Use

The Isis is a rechargeable, finger mountable, vibrating bullet. Take a moment to let that idea settle in because Isis is truly all that one could desire in a bullet. Folks of any level - from bare bones beginner or seasoned veteran - would find this vibrator a welcome addition to their collection. As a finger mounted bullet, Isis is well suited to integrate into any sort of sex play as well as providing enough oomph for focused solo play.

Material / Texture

The Isis is made from plastics materials - the core of the body from hard plastic, and the 'business end' a softer velvety plastic composite. What is unique about this material (which is universal to all Emotional Bliss products, and probably proprietary as well, come to think of it), is that it dissolves ever so slightly in water, releasing a small amount (ppm or ppb) amount of a copper ion, which is an effective anti-microbial agent. So in short, a simple water wipe-down will actually disinfect this toy. How cool is that? There are negatives to this, however - the plastic composite is likely porous enough (like most, if not all plastic composites) to make sharing with friends ill advised.
    • Antibacterial
    • Somewhat porous

Design / Shape / Size

The Isis is the shape of a bullet, with one end flattened to accommodate its push-in-on-off button. It is small - 2.5" long and 0.75" in diameter. It's kinda the same size as my pinkie, although a bit shorter. The Isis has a small bump on its top side , right near its recharge port, which allows the finger sleeves to be attached. Charging happens through a simple plug in port with the included AC adapter, and is difficult to do with the finger sleeve in place. Emotional Bliss, being a UK company, also sells adapters that can be used in areas outside North America, but the North American adapter is all that is included with the Isis.

Functions / Performance / Controls

The Isis turns off and on through a single push in button on its base. This button is not apt to be pressed during use, and is easy to trigger when you want to turn it off or on. The Isis goes at one speed - 80Hz to be exact, which is apparently better suited for younger women (below thirty, if you're curious where that divide is) than the slightly larger 110Hz Chandra. 80 Hz is, admittedly, a bit subdued if you are used to Hitachi levels of buzz, but is actually a nice intensity to use during sex, or elaborate masturbation, when there's a lot going on, so to speak. And on the upside, it's also quite quiet - incredibly discreet and capable of clandestine use behind a closed door.

The Isis runs for up to five hours on a single charge, and more impressively, it holds onto its charge for a crazy-long time. I honestly have no idea what the upper limit is, but I have gone months without picking up my Isis and have always found it still has charge enough for the job at hand with plenty to spare.
    • Discreet sound
    • Long lasting power
    • Rechargeable

Care and Maintenance

The Isis should be cleaned after used with just a with down with water, because it is made of an antibacterial material. A gentle application of soap would certainly be ok as well. Care should be taken, however to clean out the nooks and crannies on the Isis - it has a few seams that may need special attention from time to time. No special attention needs to be taken to its storage, except of course don't leave it plugged in charging while storing.
    • Easy to clean
    • Easy to store

Packaging

The Isis comes in a small box that accommodates it, the three finger sleeves, an AC adapter and a small instruction book. No storage sleeve is supplied, although the box is sturdy and plain white, so it could be used for discreet storage if you want.
    • Discreet looking packaging
    • Good for storage
    • Recyclable

Personal comments

I have been the proud owner of an Isis for some time now, and can quite honestly say that the only weak point to this toy is the finger sleeves - they can crack, and the small medium and large are hugely different in size, so not at all redundant. Otherwise, this toy is one of the longest lasting rechargeable vibrators I have had the pleasure of using, and the only rechargeable vibrator I have that is *always* charged, no matter what.

I'll say that again, just because I think it's so unique. This Isis is appears to hold its charge indefinitely, so in practice is ALWAYS charged when you need it.

I love finger vibes. It sounds like this works up to a solid orgasm rather than 'rubbing a quick one' out. I love that it is quiet and rechargable.

And I'm glad you really like this, by the way. I'm still on the fence about it. I'm not sure if it'd be strong enough for me. I'm not sure how strong I like things, really! Lol.

  • The Isis and age claims
    • So, this little finger vibe has made the claim that it is made for "women between the ages of 18 and 30." Does anyone know of any research that would support such a claim?

I know women in their 40s who have very sensitive clitorises, and those in their teens or 20s with "Clits O Steel."

I see no reason to limit the appeal of a vibrator by age, thus the company is excluding a large proportion of the buying public, who for the most part, have a little more disposible income (at least until Bush was done with us, we did.)

Any thoughts on this? It might be a cute little vibe and I included it in an article for EdenCafe I wrote on "Beginner Toys" because it's very intuitive to use. But, not because of the age thing.
    • That's weird, I didn't know toys had age limits now, I know there was 'not for anyone under 18' for obvious law reasons, but now there's an age cap, too? Ridiculous. Even older women should be able to use it no problem.
    • One would think it would simply say adult or 18+ seems odd to put a suggested age limit on a sex toy lol What we enjoy may change over time but we still enjoy a lot of things after 30 especially when we are all so different :)
