The hand that rocks the cradle.

The Butterfly kiss would be a great toy for beginners. The vibrations are not earth shattering but can bring most to orgasm with the variety in textures and shapes.

Use

The Butterfly kiss was designed to stimulate your G-spot as well as your clitoral region. The dual-action jelly shaft and bulb are meant to be inserted into your vagina to rub upon your G-spot. The butterfly offers mid range vibrations to liven up your clit. The team works together to provide a pleasurable experience. The Butterfly kiss has three settings of steady vibrations ranging from 'Low' to 'High' as well as a one button design to control the unit. No bells or whistles here, making it a perfect starter toy. This toy is not for size queens and will leave most seasoned veterans wanting more but will make the most of what it's got when you are clenching down on the bulb.

Material / Texture

The Butterfly kiss is made from phthalates free jelly. It has a noticeable pull/friction while sliding your fingers down the shaft. It is quite smooth and has a very faint 'plastic' smell. Once washed, I noticed the plastic smell was completely gone. The Butterfly kiss is super flexible throughout the shaft and bulb. It has a bit of a bounce when flicked. It is translucent where thinner material is present and opaque where thicker.

Warning: Jelly can cause an allergic reaction to some people. With that being said, do a skin test before using any jelly toy. Rubbing your new jelly toy on the inside of your wrist and waiting 24 hours will let you know if you will have a reaction or not. Jelly sex toys often contain latex. Therefore, if you are sensitive to latex, you should not use products made of jelly. Better safe then sorry (with a swollen vagina).

Design / Shape / Size

With the Butterfly kiss, you will find 3" in insertable length about the butterfly. The shaft below the bulb is 2" long and 2" around. The bulb is 4" around and about an 1" long. The butterfly extends out about 1-1/2" and is an inch across. The base below the butterfly is 2" long. The base of the unit is 4-1/2" around, 1-1/8" in diameter and about 1" tall. Everything but the base is covered in semi-translucent jelly.

Wrapped around the bottom of the butterfly, you will find that the jelly has raised hearts scattered about. Under here is where the motor is located. You can't see much of it, but cords and parts are visible. The Butterfly is highly textured with ribbing throughout its belly. The wings are extended out at a slight angle to cup your bits. The antennae are soft and can be pulled about but will return to the original placement and size. The bulb is atop a flexible shaft and is quite heavy considering the diameter of the shaft. The bulb tappers at the top and is in the shape of a softened rain drop.

The twist top to the battery compartment is white plastic and has raised writing. Here it also shows you the 'H/M/L' (High,Medium,Low) speed settings and what direction to twist to achieve your desired setting. The Butterfly kiss requires two AAA batteries. To insert the batteries, follow the instructions on the sticker located inside the battery compartment. Hold the product so that the clitoral vibrator is closest to the body; the battery on the right will be positive (+) end up, and the battery on the left should be negative (-) end up.

Functions / Performance / Controls

Butterfly kiss has three speeds: low, medium, and high. To turn on the Butterfly kiss, push the button at the bottom of the toy; this will be the lowest speed. Continue to push the button to navigate through each speed. There is a slight extended pause between each mode. When first using it, I though I had actually turned the unit off. The pause lasts about 2-3 seconds, so be patient. Your mode will kick in eventually. The button to control the unit is soft and squishy. I liked that versus the regularly hard buttons on other units.

Controls:
1) Steady 2 Vroom vibration
2) Steady 2.5 Vroom vibration
3) Steady 3 Vroom vibration

Pushing the button a fourth time will turn off the toy.

The buzzy vibrations seem to be centralized towards the bottom of the toy. They weaken the further up they go. The bulb itself does not harbor much in terms of vibrational power. It does show its true colors when you clench your vaginal muscles upon its girth or have vaginal contractions when orgasming.

Care and Maintenance

Cleaning is finicky. The Butterfly kiss has lots of crevices along the belly of the bug, under the wings and around the butterfly in general. Pay attention to these spots! You need a good eye to ensure that all your lady fluids, as well as lube (if used) are removed. Since jelly is porous, there are places for bacteria to hide so washing is very important. Use a very mild hand soap or toy cleaner to clean (not even dish soap, no alcohol, no bleach). Remove batteries and close the battery compartment making sure the top is twisted tight to keep the toy waterproof. Wash, rinse and let air dry.

Keep in mind that jelly toys cannot be sterilized and tend to wear out faster with frequent use. They also can pick up dyes/colors from other materials as well as pick up colors from other jelly toys they touch. They are known for leaving an oily residue that stains fabrics, melt into a puddle of goo if two really bad toys touch for awhile in storage, and stink up anything else that holds onto odors in its surrounding area. So if you are storing, store jelly toys separate from other toys to prevent damage.

Use condoms when switching orifices to fend off bacteria and UTI's. Always keep your toys completely clean, dry and battery-less when storing. Only water and silicone-based lubricants should be used with jelly, and stay away from latex condoms when using jelly toys as it can ruin them.

Packaging

The Butterfly kiss is packaged in a molded clamshell with a cardboard insert. The packaging isn't pretty or discrete. It isn't something you could store your Butterfly kiss in long term either. Overall, the packaging looks cheap, because well, it is. The insert doesn't give much information other than a quick description. You're on your own when it comes to using the toy, but that's easy, so no loss there. Instructions for battery insertion are provided.

Experience

Penetration with The Butterfly Kiss took a minute to get used to. The shaft under the bulb is very flexible when pressure is applied to the bulb. Trying to push it in was awkward as the bulb would tilt or buckle. Leaving a bit of bulb on the outer lip of the labia made insertion much easier. Once in, the bulb doesn't fill you up as you would imagine. The butterfly feels nice cradling the clit in the most comforting way. You can feel the wings, antennae and rippled body along the clit. I thoroughly enjoy the variety of textures. I moved it around a bit to get the cradle just right, as well as to see how the bulb felt inside without vibration. For me, this didn't do much. It felt nice but didn't get me going. I pressed the bottom button on low and noticed the vibrations were felt more on the exterior base than through the jelly. I then pressed the button on medium and felt the vibrations rise gently through the jelly, though still not as strong as I would like. It was more arousing but not up to par with what I needed. Clicking on the last setting, the vibrations felt much more throughout the butterfly but not the bulb. Laying on my back using it on the highest setting, I wasn't getting strong enough vibrations to make me even come close to orgasm. I rocked the base in a 180 degree angle. Better, but not good enough. I moved to my stomach frustrated and pressed my hips and pelvic region harder on to the base. There we go- much better. Doing this for a few minutes, since the base is a hard abs plastic, made it somewhat uncomfortable.
I then moved my left leg off of my bed, placing my right leg under me. The Butterfly kiss still inside of me I bent my torso down over the bed at a 60 degree angle. I placed the base so it was sitting on bed and pressed my clit firmly against the jelly. Here-we-go. I could feel them, they were stronger then I originally felt, leading me to believe that pressure is the key with this toy. I rocked it in the 180 degree angle I used prior to the new position. When I got closer to orgasming, I could feel my vagina clench up around the bulb which ultimately sent me over the edge. This, wasn't a mind blowing orgasm but was a quick and fruitful one. The wing stimulated the outer edges of my labia, where the antennas hit the top of the clit. The belly of the butterfly cradled my clit entirely and the exterior of the vaginal opening. The bulb proved to be great g spot stimulation as long as you are aroused, although small in girth, when climaxing, it made me feel full thus ending in a mid grade orgasm.
Follow-up commentary
I have gone cold turkey on Jelly toys. I do wish I could find something comparable in Silcone, Glass or even wood, but no such luck. Hence the void follow up.
All I can really say, is that this is great little toy at an amazing price if you are okay with Jelly. Otherwise keep on lookin'.

  • Blue more expensive?
    • Anyone know why the blue is more expensive than the pink? They're the same, right? So why is one more expensive?

  • i have experiment attraction to women,,, i´m bicurious?
    • hi my name is yesenia paris,, and i´m 22 but since i was in high school i kind of have curiosity for girls,, i never like really kiss a girl or anything or i never had any female friend to experiment that, like i am very shy person and also like a lonely girl,, althought i am a very pleasant person and i good human being ,, noone seens to like me,,, but although of that matter i still feel the curiosity may because i have never been with a girl before
does that make a bisexual,a bicurious,of it just because the loneliness or the lock of friends,, like i never have a real
girl friend ,, like it´s samething that happens with boys,, you are not friends with them ,, but you like them in a different way,,, i always thing it´s because my loneliness
and the need of an another ,, girl being friends with me i also don´t have a mom to call and talk about my problems maybe it´s because of that the confusion thanks have a nice day
    • Someone made a similar post a while back, and I'll basically tell you what we told her. Don't follow stereotypes. Don't label yourself. If you are interested in girls, then you just are. If you haven't experimented with girls, personally I feel that when I liked someone it isn't based on any particular factor, it is based on the person themselves. I tell people I am bisexual, but really I think of myself as pansexual, not limiting emotion and attraction to anything. Not gender, not age, not race, not social status.

I think that sometimes people can become lonely and will "settle", making them open their views and ideas of dating up, to allow "just anyone" to enter into their lives. My boyfriend was this way, before meeting me, dating anyone who would say yes because he had no friends, and had been hurt and heartbroken so badly he just wanted to feel loved and accepted. I also have a straight friend who dated women just so she could have someone to date, but she wasn't attracted to them, although she liked to experiment and have fun, she says she is straight, but I don't give her a label.

If you ever need a friend to talk to, I am a good listener :)
    • Excellent advice Peggi and I second that. We don't need labels...we're just people. I'm a good listener too.

  • What's up with different Butterfly Kisses?
    • When I bought my Butterfly Kiss I thought there were only 2 versions - the standard and the Platinum Edition. Since I couldn't find the PE in my country I went with the regular one. I was so bent on getting it after watching Kara Sutra's review of it. She said it was TPR. I got my Butterfly Kiss. On the packaging (plastic shell with a piece of paper) it said that it's "phthalate-free" and made of TPR. I'm inclined to believe it as it didn't smell, didn't turn ugly yellow even when I had it for more than a year, didn't sting my bits (jelly does).

Now, however I see those jelly Butterfly Kisses. What's the deal? Was my vibe mis-labeled or are there more than 2 versions? I still have the paper insert from the packaging if you'd like to see it. The vibe itself looks a bit more opaque than what I see in EF catalog - it's always looked like this.

I would also ask people from EF who deal with the Review Program. Is my Butterfly Kiss same as yours (and thus qualifies for a review) or is it a different product?
    • Hi there!! California Exotic Novelties was the 1st to come out with this fantastic design. & yes we only have 2 versions, the platinum & the original. Check it out on our website link

Many other companies have tried to duplicate our product but have had no success. We are the original creators with the best product :) Hope this helps!

It's the jelly - throw it away or always use a condom. Look for better materials like silicone or VixSkin.
    • I wouldn't even use a condom...just get rid of it and stay away from the material.

  • Jelly Deformation?
    • Well I loved this little bugger and it came at a bargain so I suppose I can't complain too much. But I whipped it out for play tonight only to find that the jelly seems to have dented and deformed itself on the lovely bulbous head. I had it in a pocket next to my turbo glider and I suspect with some heat and pressure, that's the culprit that did this. It has very odd dents/suctionish things on it now.

Is this prone to happen to jelly toys? Could it have been the California summer heat? I would like to prevent this from happening in the future.

But in case people are wondering, this a toy I would glady invest in again.
    • It is my experience that jelly toys just deteriorate really fast...the heat may have sped up this process though. I do know heat can cause more phthalates to leak out of jelly. It probably just kind of melted on you a little. I would have to say you should go ahead and get a new one or better yet, find a comparible toy in silicone! Silicone can be boiled so, heat shouldn't be an issue with it at all! It always sucks when one of your favorites melts.
    • Does your house get pretty warm? I've never had that problem and I live in AZ. Was it touching the turbo glider? Sounds like a toy material interaction to me.
