I Shall Call Him Squishy

It amazes me how quickly this toy has been forgotten. While it provided a nice introduction to toys (since both of us were toy virgins), it is easily replaceable with other clitoral toys that have a stronger vrooms. Still, for the price, battery type, and target audience, it deserves a fair rating.

Use

The Butterfly does something very well and at a great price. We picked up this vibrator for under $15. It is geared toward beginners interested in clitoral stimulation and maybe G-spot pleasure, if yours is shallow enough. This toy makes a great introduction to things that go buzz.

Material / Texture

The Butterfly is made of TPR, which is rated 7 on the EF safety scale. This means you should be careful in sharing this toy with others since it cannot be boiled or bleached.

As the title suggests, this toy is very flexible and has a squishy feel to it. It easily conforms to your body and provides a good amount of "give" for a toy. The Butterfly's kiss function is positioned for a clitoris and is smooth and does not snag. It is geared toward beginners, with a non-aggressive texture or hardness and providing a soft "kiss" for those individuals lacking a "clit of steel".

Some people complain about the toy's odor. We cannot comment because it doesn't stink; it has a plastic smell to it that is not noticeable unless you, literally, place it under your nose.

Design / Shape / Size

The design of the Butterfly has a kiss, which I already discussed. The butterfly is 7" in length, of which 3-1/2" is insertable. It has a 1-1/8" diameter, which makes for a relatively small toy. I think this toy is great if you are extremely new to sex toys; it's not intimidating and is shallow and small enough to not cause any pain during insertion or removal.

Functions / Performance / Controls

The Butterfly is powered by 2 AAA batteries and is controlled by a simple push-button on the bottom of the battery cover. There are three settings: off, low-medium, and high. The butterfly is remarkably loud and not extremely vroom-capable, in my opinion. It has a bit of a sloppy buzz, as the material moves with the buzz like an old diesel rather than the tighter buzz of other toys. I think this helps spread the vibrations all over the toy rather than keeping them concentrated in one area. It can be enjoyable to a user if that is what they desire.
    • Easy to use
    • Not enough variety
    • Not very discreet

Care and Maintenance

To care for TPR, simply wash with some soap and water. It cannot be boiled or bleached. We normally pull out the batteries since the toy doesn't get much use anymore. We only use water-based lubes due to some skin sensitivity, but silicone or water-based lubes will also work with the Butterfly. Honestly, after a couple of tries, you may find lube unnecessary with a toy of this size--we don't use lube with the Butterfly unless needed.
