The finger vibe that helps in a crisis!

The Isis is great because it is a high quality toy for a very reasonable price. It doesn't require you to buy batteries, as it is rechargeable, and it is made with a built-in antibacterial agent. It is very easy to hide and store and it's also easy to clean. The only problem with it is the amount of noise it produces. Overall, it is a great little toy.

Use

Do you have a hard time achieving an orgasm from straight up intercourse? Looking for that extra oomph in your sex life perhaps? I have a solution for you! The Isis Intimate Massager is a small and discreet little vibe that offers a lot of stimulation and ease of manipulation for those times when you need a little help to reach an orgasm. This little gem is great for playing alone or with a partner. It is small enough that you can bring it anywhere with you, and the best part in my opinion, is that it does not require batteries.

The Isis is a lovely little rechargeable device that has been designed with a material that actually cleans itself! It works great for clitoral stimulation or to heighten the feeling in your nipples. Alternatively, you can use it on your partner's nipples, his shaft, perineum or around the anus. It works wonders on his balls as well. Basically, you can use this thing anywhere you find an erogenous zone.

The Isis was designed by Emotional Bliss to work best for women ages 18 to 30, but it's basically just not as strong as its older sister, the Chandra.

Material / Texture

The Isis is made out of some pretty impressive material that anyone can appreciate. The back part and finger bands of the toy are white and made of a strong high quality plastic that is almost smooth to the touch. The blue part (front of the toy that actually touches your sensitive bits and the on/off button) is made from a soft rubber that is latex free and has some ridges that add to the sensation when rubbing the toy in places. The whole toy is phthalates and PVC free.

It is easy to tell they put in years of development at Emotional Bliss to make this vibe. The neatest part about this material is that it has an antibacterial agent built right into the plastic at the time of manufacture. When the Isis comes into contact with moisture, it releases silver ions that strip away a miscroscopic layer of the toy. This makes it perfectly clean to use again and again. Silver ions are said to be 99.9% effective, by the company, to kill all sorts of micro-organisms. Nifty, eh?

Design / Shape / Size

The Isis is super discreet and easy to travel with. It doesn't scream "Look at me! I am a sex vibrator!" at all. Its charging adapter is also pretty small and definitely light-weight, making the whole thing easy to take with you wherever you are going. The vibe itself measures 2.6 inches in length, 2 and 3/4 inches in circumference around the bulbous tip, and weighs about 1 ounce. It is so small that you can store it pretty much anywhere.

The Isis comes with three finger bands of various sizes to fit just about anyone's finger, if you choose to use it with the band. I use the middle sized one as the small one is pretty tiny. I have small fingers and it barely fits! You attach the finger band by sliding it forward onto the little mushroom nipple located on the top of the toy. If it is on right, you will be able to see the charging port through the hole that you inserted the nipple into.

The design of the finger vibe is really something. It acts just like an extension of the finger and is very easy to maneuver around the body. The shape is reminiscent of an oversized finger that is slightly bent. I find it makes it nice and easy for pinpoint precision work while using it. There is a finger pad on the top of it if you choose not to use the bands to attach that makes it not as easy for your finger to slip around on it.

Functions / Performance / Controls

This vibrator is very easy to figure out. The on/off button is located at the back of it and one simple push of it turns it on and another turns it off again. It is marked with the universal symbol for on/off function so it's hard to miss. Once turned on, it makes a rather high-pitched buzzing that is quite loud. This is the only flaw I can find with the toy itself. It seems to be coming from the plastic part of the body.

The vibration frequency is 80Hz which is said to be more responsive in women ages 18-30 but I find it works just fine for me and I am over the suggested age range. The vibes are more buzzy than deep, but can be felt very well as it is pretty strong. My finger gets pretty itchy when I use the band so I opt out of using it most times.

When the Isis is fully charged it can last you anywhere from 2 to 3 hours on a single charge. This makes for lots of play time before you have to recharge it again. When it's plugged in to the adapter, the adapter will indicate it is charging with a blue light. Similarly, the Isis lights up blue where the on/off switch is located, letting you know there is a charge being received.

This toy is not waterproof so don't go submerging it in water or using it in the shower/bathtub.

Care and Maintenance

The Isis is pretty easy to take care of. To clean it, you simply use a mild soap and wipe it down with a cloth. Please use care when doing so, as you don't want to get water in the charging port at all. The back by the on/off button is a little tricky to get cleaned however, because it is small and there isn't much space between where the button protrudes and the outer wall of the plastic that surrounds it. Once you are done cleaning it, it should be stored in a plastic or satin bag to keep it clean and free of debris. I find it picks up pet hair and dust/lint very easily, especially on the rubber part.

Since this is a rechargeable toy, you need to charge it initially for 12 hours as directed by the manufacturer. Once it is charged you can leave it plugged in, as that won't hurt the battery, or take it off charge and store it/use it. It is not to be used while it's still plugged in.

Isis is compatible with both the water based and silicone based lubes, so have fun experimenting with the two and finding out which feels best for you. I have only used the water based lube and it works very well.

Packaging

The Isis comes in a cardboard box, making the packaging recyclable. On the front it has a picture of the Isis and it says that it is an intimate massager in large enough letters. I suppose this makes it not all that discreet, however; there are no naked people or overly sexual innuendos on the box. In fact, the box is very pretty with flowers on the front and coloured purple and pink. You can definitely use the box for storage, but it's so much larger than the Isis itself that you'd be better off just storing it separately from other toys in a small bag.

Inside the box, the adapter comes in its own cardboard box, and the toy comes in a small plastic bag. I recommend keeping the small box to store the adapter in so it doesn't get tangled with other adapters or toys with cords.

The Isis comes with a nice booklet explaining the company's goals, a bit about the sex therapist that helped design it, how to best use the Isis, and a product description with the functions and charging times explained. There are also some pages of other products that Emotional Bliss offers. Since it is not an overly complicated device to operate and figure out, there weren't too many technical specs devoted to the Isis in the booklet. I did, however, learn the four phases of the female sexual response!

Experience

I really like to use the Isis to help me achieve orgasms on my own, and during intercourse with my husband. I think I like it best when we are going at it doggy style because I can use my one hand to manipulate the Isis while he penetrates me from behind.

I have not found that it's too weak for me, and it's great to use on my partner to stimulate his erogenous zones as well.

The only problem is the damn noise it makes! Unless I am holding it and covering the white plastic part with my thumb and middle finger, it can be heard through my closed door no problem. When I use the finger band with it, it is as loud as ever, so I haven't been using one. My husband and I have had a good laugh or two over how loud it can get if we aren't holding it right.

I have another Emotional Bliss toy and that toy is so obnoxiously loud that we rarely use it!

Really excellent review. Now I want you to review Chandra too so I can read your comparison. Why did you choose this one to buy instead of Chandra?

Oh boo, that's not good to hear. I have been eyeing a couple of their products but now I don't know! Which one is it?

Thanks Tuesday! I chose the Isis because it looks smaller. I do plan on getting a Chandra as well for comparison sake but wanted to start with this.

I'm with Tuesday. You should do a comparison review. Thanks for the great review. I have both the Isis and Chandra on my wish list.

I'm disappointed that the blue part is made of rubber. The product description page only mentions plastic as the material, so I'd been planning on getting either this or the Chandra. But if rubber is one of the materials, this nixes both of them from my wish list completely.

Thanks for the review and the heads up on the material.

Thanks Shums and Bunnycups.

@ Selective..is it because you don't like the feel of rubber? It's latex free and hypoallergenic if that is what you are worried about.. You are quite welcome!

Porfiriato ..thank you!

Nice review, interesting product. Is it too clunky to use in missionary position?

I'd think it would also work nice in spooning.

Good review, Andie. I'm not a big fan of loud toys and Emotional Bliss seems to think I'm "too old" for this toy. (Great selling strategy on their part. LOL!)

Do you have any idea where the company got the idea that certain toys are appropriate for women of certain ages? I know Emotional Bliss has been making this claim about this toy being made for women between 18 and 34, but where did this info come from? Just wondering if you knew.

Keep up the good reviews!

I think it's pretty hilarious that they put an age range on it... and weird. Great review hun! Keep 'em coming

@ScottA I can see it being used missionary, just without the band attachment. I agree about the spooning! Thanks.

@P'Gell I don't know about their claims but they say that have done "research" hehe. Apparently women ages 18-30 respond better to the frequency? It's marketing if you ask me. Thank you and I will try to keep the good reviews coming!

Thanks ToyGeek, twistedfinger and Emily!

@Jobthingy Yeah, I am going to get on that soon! hehe

  • The Isis and age claims
    • So, this little finger vibe has made the claim that it is made for "women between the ages of 18 and 30." Does anyone know of any research that would support such a claim?

I know women in their 40s who have very sensitive clitorises, and those in their teens or 20s with "Clits O Steel."

I see no reason to limit the appeal of a vibrator by age, thus the company is excluding a large proportion of the buying public, who for the most part, have a little more disposible income (at least until Bush was done with us, we did.)

Any thoughts on this? It might be a cute little vibe and I included it in an article for EdenCafe I wrote on "Beginner Toys" because it's very intuitive to use. But, not because of the age thing.
    • That's weird, I didn't know toys had age limits now, I know there was 'not for anyone under 18' for obvious law reasons, but now there's an age cap, too? Ridiculous. Even older women should be able to use it no problem.
    • One would think it would simply say adult or 18+ seems odd to put a suggested age limit on a sex toy lol What we enjoy may change over time but we still enjoy a lot of things after 30 especially when we are all so different :)
