Speaking of stories and preferences, in my introduction, I asked what you prefer as a reader-- the first person story ("I") or the third person story ("she")? In general, it seems like erotica might be weighted a little heavier on ... more
I think if the writing is good...then I can enjoy both types of writing in stories. I think I prefer first person because as many have said...it allows me to put myself into the role of that person and also helps with the surprise endings that are alot of fun!

Hi, Laurel!

Trying to catch up ends as an uphill battle. I've been here from the start and still feel like I'm at the starting line. *known slowpoke*

My Borders guy has come to know me well and blushes each time I make my way to the counter.

It can be fun sometimes to read a 1st person novel with a guy as the person just to get a different perspective. I often ask one of the guys to read it just to see if they agree with the author. It can be enlightening to see what a guy sees during an encounter.

So question for Kristina - and Alison, if she's still here, or anyone else that may know of anything. What open calls for submissions are going on right now? I know some of us are looking for writing opportunities and that's always a good place to start.

I loved, loved, loved the hotel them in Do Not Disturb. (I'm a bit biased, of course, since I have a story in that collection.)

Did you have a favorite story? You don't have to say mine.

I'm anxious about it as well! There's just something about fairy tales and erotic that sounds very appealing

No worries, I'll continue wading through the ocean-fulls of fanfic because the thought of Draco/Tom is quite intriguing. See you all soon!

I like variety, and a mix of everything in an anthology keeps it nice and fresh. If it were for a book, I'd go with the first person.
Interesting. I have to say, it's only been in the last few years that first-person novels have really appealed to me. I think maybe it's because I grew up reading third person romances and gothics. But I've adjusted!

Everyone always recommends I check out this website. They seem to keep up on what pieces are currently accepting submissions:

You know, there should actually be a collection specifically for couples to read aloud like you do.
I've toyed with the idea of throwing something together like that myself... sort of like "Read Aloud Role Play"

Kind of reminds me of the graphic novel Fables, about modern day fairy tale characters living in exile in NYC. I love that story and that has got me curious about Fairy Tale Lust as well.
