Pirates by Digital Playground - review by Lady Neshamah

I have to admit, that most porn doesn't do that much for me. It could be that my tastes are a it more out there than the mainstream is doing. I am very much a kinky pirate girl. But since I have joined up with a pirate performance troupe, I couldn't pass up a very sexual film with pirates. (Yeah, the troupe that I am with does more than kid friendly shows and seeing that it's also a bit of a poly group, there is a lot of kinky sexual stuff going on below deck.)

Pirates came out in 2005 and was put out by Digital Playground. It's a three disk set, one with the full two hour and nine minute film, one with all the bonus features and one with the soundtrack. The film was at the time the most expensive porn made. It was directed by Joone. It has Janine, Jesse Jane, Steven St. Croix, Carmen Luvana, Devon (I), Evan Stone, Tommy Gunn, Austyn Moore, Jenaveve Jolie, and Teagan Presley in it. The bonus features are behind the scenes, cast and crew information, chapter selections, interactive menus, photo gallery, trailers and bloopers and outtakes.

The story is very simple. Damsel in distress, bad pirates, good pirate hunters, Incan magic and a whole lot of sex. But even with the simple story, the acting is wonderful. But the weakest of the actors was Jesse Jane. Seemed that all she could do was her duck face and look at the camera. Everyone else was spot on and actually much better as actors than I have seen in most porns.

There is a lot of really silly stuff and the film doesn't take itself to seriously, seeing that a lot of porn thinks of itself as art house film. There is a lot of tongue in cheek humor though out the whole film, even in the sex scenes. Yes, the sex is hot, but there is nothing really out there or amazing about it. I have to laugh at the scissoring that happens a lot in the girl on girl scenes. I don't know any lesbians that actually do that. I tried it one time, and it doesn't do a damn thing at all other than look good on film.

I have actually run Pirates at play parties and pirate themed parties. A very fun and sexy film. I also play it as porn for myself and my husband.
