Magic Lives in Curves, not Angles

The Pipedream Metal Worx line may at first seem like a knockoff of the Njoy toy line but at closer look it reveals itself as a quality stand up product line. While early versions of the Curve here were plagued by quality control issues and substandard materials, the current line is free of defects and of excellent quality. While it is not a true stainless steel toy, the current Curve is of such fine design and finish you won't be able to tell the difference.

Use

The Curve is part of Pipedream's new steel toy line Metal Worx. Following the popularity of Njoy's steel toys, there seems to be an increase in interest in high grade, high cost steel toys. The Metal Worx line is designed to address this interest by providing steel toys at a lower cost. The Curve is a lovely "S" shaped design that is similar to Njoy's Fun Wand. The idea is that the curved shape makes it an excellent toy for anal play. The toy is split between graduated bumps and a smooth shaft with a large bell on the end. While the bumpy half is great for anal play and creates a fantastic sensation, the smooth half with the bell works well for both G-spot and P-spot stimulation. Of course, be sure to clean the toy before switching from anus to vagina to avoid infection.

Material / Texture

While a metal toy, the Curve is not technically a stainless steel toy as you might otherwise assume. The production process and costs associated with stainless steel are significantly different from standard steel production and it is not surprising Pipedream decided against a stainless line. The packaging states the Curve is Nickel free which is good to hear, Nickel is known to cause a variety of issues with prolonged exposure. The package also states the toy is weighted. In other weighted toys I have found it is often in the form of sand or lead shot inside the toy, allowing for the weight to shift. The Curve seems to have no such feature as the toy seems solid through and through. Likely the added weight was added during the casting process and is literally part of the toy now. As you can see from the image and closeups in the video, the Curve is smooth as glass. Were this a silicone toy I would worry that the lube would slide off the end with nothing to get purchase on. Interestingly enough this is not the case with the Curve. The lubes I tried stayed on nicely and aside from getting a bit runny when the toy was warmed up, performed beautifully.

Design / Shape / Size

The shape of the Curve is an elongated "S" shape featuring a smooth half and a beaded half. The smooth half features a smooth, untextured shaft ending in a large bell approximately 1 1/4" in diameter. The gentle curve to the shaft provides the leverage needed to accurately and efficiently stimulate G and P spots. Even when covered in lubricant, the beaded half provides a secure handle to grip and manipulate the probe during play. This toy is particularly effective at targeted spot stimulation due to its rigidity.

The beaded half of the Curve features four teardrop shaped beads starting small at the tip and increasing in size to the fourth bead in the center of the toy. Midway along this shaft we see a pronounced upward bend resulting in the curve of the beaded end being more aggressive than the smooth end. Because of the small size of the first bead and the sharper curve of the beaded end, I advise caution with this toy. Since steel is extremely unyielding it is particularly important that you do not get carried away and injure yourself. The pronounced point and heavy weight of the Curve could result in significant internal bruising if not used with care.

Performance

From what I could see of the Curve, it seems to be an excellent design. The curve of each half provides both leverage and a handle that make using this toy a delight. It works easily well in solo use and partner play, the metal construction opening up some fun options for temperature play. It lubricates well and being metal it has no issues with any kind of lube, making this a nice addition to any sort of toy play.

Care and Maintenance

The nice thing about metal is that it's one of the safest materials to deal with. You can't really get bacterial buildup on a nonporous surface like that and if there is something nasty on there, you can generally see it pretty easily. The other nice thing about metal is that it's easy as pie to clean up. Just wipe it down, soap it up, boil it, or whatever else. A few concerns though, I do not recommend boiling since the steel holds its temperature very well and will become dangerously hot for some time after boiling. I would also avoid harsh soaps and solvents as well, since this is only polished metal and not stainless steel it is less able to handle strong chemicals without damage. You would likely not see any effect the first few times but with continued exposure to these materials, you would likely see the chrome finish of this toy wear away or dull. Therefore, I only recommend water, mild soap, or alcohol based products to clean this toy. Other products may have no effect but why take the chance?

The storage of this toy is a delight. Since it comes with a snappy case, I think you should keep it in there. I know I do. If you find the case is too big or you choose not to use it for some reason, the Curve can be stored with and exposed to pretty much any other toy. Just keep it separate from other metal toys. It would be a darn shame to get a nasty dent.

Packaging

This may be my favorite thing about this whole dang toy. The case the Curve comes in is filled with a firm foam block with a perfect cutout of the Curve inside. It holds the Curve snugly and securely for storage and transport and looks good while doing it. The case is similar to the type photography and audio equipment are typically stored in. While this case is likely not up to that same level of quality, it is still a fantastic item to own and is a great addition by the manufacturers. You can see detail of the case in the video.
