Aluminum mini - butt plug by Cal Exotics - review by Carrie Ann

The Aluminum Mini is one of those toys I looked at for a long time before I got it. I'd heard some good, some bad but finally decided to give it a try, simply because it's so darned pretty!

The Mini is made from aluminum. I got the smaller of the two, as I'm not fond of long anal toys and these are kind of pokey. The smaller is 3" in insertable length and 1.25" in diameter. The neck diameter is 3/8 of an inch.

A nice, small plug, which I figured would be great for my first metal anal toy. Oh, if only I'd gotten the Pure Plug first! I'd have saved myself some trauma!

The aluminum is shiny in appearance but does have visible mill or brush lines on it. Nothing that really detracts from it's looks or that can be felt but there, none-the-less. It's quite hefty, more so than you'd expect, but not exactly "heavy" - just heftier than you expect a small piece of aluminum to be. The base is small and contains a cute little blue-ish purple colored "gem".

I was, to be totally up front, very excited to have a bejeweled ass.

Unfortunately, my ass did not like this jeweled plug at all.

It went in fine, aided by the nice taper. It felt fine once in, the taper, despite being pointy, not pointy enough to be pokey. It wasn't too big, wasn't too small, wasn't too heavy, wasn't too light. Really, it was kind of just right.

And then, just as I was about to exclaim "AWESOME!" this little plug slipped right up my ass! Thankfully, I noticed immediately when the base began to feel like it was sliding in and was able to retrieve it before it was completely vanished but it was too close for my comfort.

The issue is the base itself. It is not wider than the widest part of the plug and, at 1.25 inches, way too easy to fully insert. It's just not a safe flange, at all. If I can get the 1.25" shaft into my butt, my butt is going to think it's supposed to eat the 1.25" base, too. Butts are dumb that way.

And so, alas, the beautiful little plug was an epic fail for me. It's possible it would work okay for a total anal beginner with an excruciatingly tight bum but, for me, it just didn't work.

Cleaning is easy; since it's metal, you can wash with soap and water or use a mild bleach solution if you want to sanitize. I wouldn't recommend frequent boiling, however, because the gem is glued in and boiling can break down glue. It's in there firmly but, still, use care if you boil.

It did come with a really nice, tiny black velvet storage bag, which was a plus. You'll definitely want to store it in the bag, since it can get scratched up otherwise. The packaging was also nice on the inside; a bed of satin with a slot that perfectly fits the plug. The outside was kind of gaudy plastic, though. Would have been much nicer if the outer box/cover was cardboard or something.

All in all, though pretty, the Mini gets a pretty bad rating in my book because I just can't consider it safe.
