All Tied Up With Nowhere To Go

I like this rope quite a lot. I have another rope but it is made from cotton. I thought that one was fine and dandy and plenty soft, until I tried this silk rope out. The Silk Rope is almost plushy. I'm also really happy with the color. I think the black just looks so cute and sexy.

Use

I think this rope is great for beginners, and even for people into more advanced BDSM. It is very soft, which I like. This rope seems fun for some basic arm or leg binding, maybe even a harness but not a very elaborate one (and not on a very large person). This rope is 35 ft. which may seem like a lot to a beginner, but once you get to playing with it you will probably want to order more. I don't think there is enough rope here for more elaborate rope work and harnesses, but personally, I like it and it is fun for me and my purposes for now. Plus, I have more ropes in case I run into a situation where we just need more.

The rope comes with an eye mask included, but the eye mask is useless to me, and is very much for someone totally new to BDSM.

It is 35 feet and 1/4" thick. I personally like this rope. I like how soft it feels. The rope has a light smell when you first take it out of the package, but I think that will be gone within a day.

The rope seems well made. After I took it out I noticed the silver, foil material tape ends on the rope. I plan to take them off and just tie or stitch the ends. I don't really like the look of the silver taped ends.

This rope comes with a mask. The mask seems rather flimsy. It's really just a plain black sleep-mask. I took it out of the box and out of its plastic wrapping; I put it over my eyes. I can see under it, so it is not ideal for total blinding, but I guess some might think it is fun for beginner's sensory play. It sounds kind of crinkly. Also, it has a light plastic smell, it doesn't bother me and isn't at all overpowering but I'm sure it will go away soon.

This rope is silk, so it is not vegan.

Performance

For us, this rope worked well. Personally, I think I like it more than my other rope. I like the texture of it. My partner tried some leg binding on me with it, and it worked really well. It seems to hold up pretty well, but while he was tying me up I noticed that the rope had frayed a bit. Nothing too serious, and I don't imagine it will degrade the quality of the rope or make it rip or anything, but there a piece is sticking out somewhere in the middle. I figure that I will just trim it off.

I really like how soft this rope is, it's really comfortable to wear. I could probably wear it as a body harness under clothing, if I didn't wear such fitted clothing because it would probably look lumpy and noticeable with the things I wear.

I like the fabric a lot; it doesn't chafe at all, and I have sensitive skin. Also, it didn't really leave any noticeable marks behind, which is nice.

I think the best way to care for this rope would be to hand wash it and hang it to dry.

Packaging

The packaging is not discreet at all, as there is at least one image of a woman tied up on every side of the box but the bottom. The box is cardboard, so it is recyclable.

I still like this rope very much, though my rope and BDSM stuff has not been getting much use recently. The texture of the rope is still my favorite of any other ropes I've used, it is by far the softest and nicest to the touch.The silver foily wrappings on the ends of the rope have surprisingly stayed on! I was going to take them off, but I never bothered to. They seemed kind of flimsy to me and I have read about them coming off easily in other reviews, but they seem to have held up just fine for me. If they come off I will not mind, I can just tie the ends off. This is definitely a rope I would recommend to anyone interesting in bondage at all. Enough length for the basics, and you can always get two if you felt it was necessary - at $11.99, it is affordable and worth the price. Also, I found a double use for it when my partner seemed to have lost his belt. I didn't have an extra belt lying around that would fit him, so he told me he needed rope or something to keep his pants up while he did stuff in the yard. I went for this rope, and it wrapped around his waist 2 or 3 times and seemed to have held up his pants pretty well. Not necessarily the intended use, but this seems to have come in handy! Great for MacGyvering your way out of things.

So, for a tiny (Under 5' and right around 110) person, would you say that this would be enough to experiment with? Neither my boyfriend or I are very big, and we've never really played with the rope thing.

I am 5'9" or 10". I have plenty of room to experiment with, you certainly would be able to have lots of fun with it! I think this is a great start for expirementing with rope. I would recommend this as a beginners rope for you guys!

      Rope is typically made of hemp, linen, cotton or (as in this case) silk. To say that rope is made of rope is a bit redundant. :D

      But yeah, materials are always listed on the product's page, billybobtoy. It'll always be to the left of the product's picture, and it'll link to some basic care instructions. Though if you need more in-depth information, don't hesitate to ask.
