This little ruler is a great introduction to role play, BDSM and just plain ol' spanking fun. To use it, you hold the leather portion of the ruler, and you hit with it, by using a snapping movement in the wrist.

Depending on how much you snap your wrist, the ruler can provide light pain to stinging pain. The ruler can be used solo or with a partner, and is best used on fleshy body parts such as thighs, and buttocks. When used at its full level, it gives a pop on the skin, that is as loud as it is painful.

This ruler is more of a paddle than a measuring device because it is thicker than standard rulers and has a cushioned handle. The ruler is too thick to 'pop' like a standard ruler can, so in order to induce the most pain you must snap your wrist while holding it. There is no bend to the ruler. The cushioned handle gives the user better control of it without having to worry about sharp edges digging into their hands.

Although the flogging side of the ruler is not cushioned, the edges of the ruler are not sharp. This is good, because even at my most careless times, I was not able to scratch myself or any other person while using it. The wood is not coated, but it is finished and smooth. I do not worry about any splinters.

When compared to other flogging toys, I prefer the naughty ruler. One reason is simply because of how it looks. Because it is wood, it looks like it will hurt, and the anticipation of that pain, does something for my arousal level. When used with a snapping motion, it really does hurt, but it is a quick, sharp, stinging pain, rather than a lingering, generalized pain that hurts in the morning.

I have also used the ruler on others and have found that it was easy to use and comfortable to hold. I can grab it and quickly pop it without much thought. I also enjoy how I am able to control where it goes very easily (as compared to a whip or flogger). It also works a lot better than my bare hands.

With minimum practice, the Naughty Ruler can also be used on yourself with the same results.

The naughty ruler is the first flogging toy I have owned. I found it easy to use on myself and others. I would recommend it for beginners, but also believe that experienced players would enjoy it because it can give quite a sting.
