The idea of this implement is great. I will agree it's a little thicker than a normal ruler but in reality it's very cheaply made and easily breakable. It doesn't leave the sting of a regular ruler and is very non threatening to any submissive who might feel this on their bottom. We did try using it and hitting harder than normal but at that point we were close to cracking the toy and decided not to use it as more than just a cute fun "decoration" type toy.

Perhaps if you're looking for a prop in a school girl type fantasy this could work for you. It would work especially well for the type of fantasy where the "school girl" doesn't enjoy or want to feel a lot of pain. It would be a great option for that type of scene.

Honestly if you're looking for a ruler that really does leave a sting and hurt, I would suggest going to the local office supply store and purchasing a "flexi-ruler." They may look like they won't hurt but I promise they do! As I said, this ruler is thicker but it still isn't going to provide any sort of threat of pain after feeling it the first or second time. I do like the idea of having a handle but in reality, it looks more like electrical tape wrapped around the ruler than an actual handle.

Basically what I'm saying is- If you're really into BDSM type play this isn't going to provide what you are looking for. However, if you are just looking to fulfill a school girl fantasy, go for it. It won't hurt and it could be great for foreplay.

It's really up to you and your partner to decide if this is a good choice for you. It's possible some may like the idea of pain more than the actual pain itself. If this is the case for you, then this ruler would be a really great option. Just don't go looking for the ruler to hurt, because it won't.

The ruler finally broke in half and to be honest, I wasn't sorry to see it go. As I'd stated in my original review, it's just not a toy for heavy play. You need to be very careful and only engage in light, playful scenes. Fulfilling a schoolgirl fantasy would be good with this toy, but beyond that there's just no practical use for this spanking toy.
