Naughty ruler - flogging toy by Ruff doggie styles - review by Airen Wolf

My first experience with a ruler was the day I admitted that I like a light spanking during a pillow talk session with Arch. He grinned that completely disarming smile of his and reached into his desk. Before I quite knew what was happening I was over his lap and he was showing me what years of tennis lessons had taught him about swinging a plastic ruler! I was hooked, and a bit sore the next day. I have many implements for spanking but none quite measures up to a plain old fashioned ruler...until now. Trust Ruff Doggies Styles to understand the need for the Naughty Ruler. When I saw it I was afraid to buy it at first because, dang it all,wooden rulers actually HURT! In the end, however, common sense lost.


The Naughty Ruler is very minimally packaged having only a shrink wrapped plastic around the leather wrapped handle and a card that is hilarious! The card looks like the ones you might find advertising rulers at the local department store. On the back of the card, however, is written this: "Do you have enough lead in your pencil to get an "A" on the test to come to the head of the class? Be the envy of the other students as the teacher leads you with a firm hand. Don't be a bad teacher's pet otherwise you'll be getting a spanking. Bend over the desk and give the teacher your apple to make sure you measure up and graduate with special honors 'mega-come-loud-ahhhh'" Kitchy and very cute!

The ruler is just the regulation 12 inches long but the last four inches are wrapped in leather bindings providing a non-slip grip for the user. This may seem a bit unfair or unnecessary but it helps the user place the ruler exactly where they want it to land avoiding those times they hit an overly tender part of their naughty student's anatomy. It also looks very classy! The ruler itself looks exactly like a school ruler without the metal strip down one side. The top where the measurements are is slightly beveled but the back of the ruler is totally flat. On the back of the ruler is the Ruff Doggies Styles logo and the words "do you measure up?" It's a very simple little toy that might not be terribly discreet but at a first brief glance won't cause raised eyebrows.


The ruler is wooden and not coated in any polyurethane so the user will want to be sure to thoroughly dry the toy if it gets wet. I recommend taking care to keep water away from the leather bindings or leave the plastic shrink wrap on the handle. Should the ruler get dirty I would recommend a damp cloth or a brief washing with warm water and mild soap followed by a thorough drying.

The ruler is smooth and unlikely to splinter but running a finger over the edged and maybe a fine grade sandpaper if you notice some rough edges will be much appreciated by your partner.


In use we found that the leather grip prevents slipping and allows the user to grip the handle without cramping. It has a sharp sting when it strikes the buttocks or thighs. This isn't the dull thump kind of spanker and the sting is very sharp. I don't recommend using the ruler on the back, stomach area or any area that isn't well padded. This toy looks innocent enough but has a wickedly brutal nature! It can leave bruises, welts, and even light scratches if the user isn't careful while playing. Personally, I like being spanked on the breasts but be aware that this ruler can cause some serious bruising there...and no small amount of guilt to the unsuspecting 'teacher'.

This is still one of our favorite paddles for times when you want a no frills paddling. It hurts, can leave beautiful marks and welts, and looks amazing. For school days fantasy role play you can't beat this ruler.

We haven't noticed any water spotting, or fraying of the handle where it is wrapped. It can sit on my desk without arousing much suspicion since I have three kids, now we have never used a paddle on them but other people don't know that! When the kid's friends come over they seem to act a bit nicer when they see my ruler sitting out, funny how that works!

Seriously, though we love this silly piece of wood.
