Use

This silk rope is my first rope and I can vouch that it's great for beginners! As long as you can tie a knot, you can use this rope. As for more experienced users, the material is very strong and there is plenty of it. If you're looking for a gentle, durable bondage rope this is perfect for you.

On a completely different note, with a strong knot you could tie two of these to your grappling hook and surmount many cliffs and dungeon pits! Silk rope is a must-have for an adventurer on the go.

Design / Craftsmanship / Material / Size / Fit

This silk love rope is very aesthetically pleasing. It comes in black, red, purple (my personal choice), and pink. It's a thin, sleek rope that is very durable. The silk was able to withstand quite a lot of wriggling and tugging and didn't fray or come loose. It is very gentle and did not irritate my skin. However, it did leave a slight imprint that went away in about an hour. As long as you keep your wrists hidden you should be good to go!
    • Fits comfortably
    • Will fit most people

Performance

It definitely met expectations. I was unaware of the free blindfold, which was a nice little touch that I was able to use immediately. The rope is very soft and very comfortable, yet my partner was able bind my upper body with my arms behind my back with no issue and plenty of rope to spare. The versatility of the rope and the pure sexiness of being tied up or seeing a person tied up properly with this rope is fantastic and definitely makes it worth every penny.
    • Comfortable during use
    • Easy to put on / use
    • Holds up to use well

Care and Maintenance

Maintaining your rope couldn't be easier. All you have to do is use it, wrap it back up as it was in the packaging, and then store wherever you'd like. Wrapping: After use, fold the rope in half twice, and use one end to wrap it around the center to hold it in place and keep it neat.

Whenever you decide to wash the rope, you can toss it in the washer (preferably in a lingerie bag) and allow it to air-dry.
    • Easy to store

Packaging

This packaging includes the title "Japanese Silk Rope". Well, upon further inspection I found that it was made and printed in China and assembled in the USA. China + USA = Japan? In any case, the packaging includes a sexy woman in various bondage positions: Four different positions with her legs and arms tied together, and one with her breasts bound. I have to say, the guy on the package is pretty creepy, and the restraints she's in look pretty easy to get out of.

The back includes the description: "With this super-soft Japanese Silk Rope, you don't have to be an expert to enjoy the pleasure of Japanese-style bondage play. It's ideal for those who simply want to tie their partner's hands and feet, but long enough and durable enough for those who want to engage in Shibari style rope bondage. The rope is 1/4" thick and 35 feet long, perfect for creating elaborate body harnesses and rope restraints."
    • Not discreet

Personal comments

Whenever using bondage, make sure that you communicate your needs to your partner. If you feel a limb losing circulation, or you're uncomfortable or in pain - voice it! Only practice bondage with someone you know and trust, and be sure to know your boundaries and limits.

Once a partner is tied up, do not leave them unattended. Do not put any pressure on the throat and on a similar note, do not use any sort of slip knot around the throat! If the knot has the possibility of tightening during play, it does not belong around the throat.

  • "fetish fantasy series japanese silk rope" -- not silk

link manufacturers page states that this rope is actually made out of cotton.

Talk about a misleading/lying branding system. Is Japanese Silk a trademark of theirs that they make out of chinese cotton?

  • 'Silk' bondage rope listed under 'suspension kits'
    • Hey, Eden? I would like to respectfully suggest you remove this from the 'suspension kits' category. This type of rope is *not* safe for suspension. It's not real silk (Pipedream has confirmed it is actually a cotton/polyester blend), so can fray easily, stretch, and is just a poor idea if you don't want to risk dropping your submissive on their head.

I agree. I made sure to put in my review that the rope is not intended for suspension or partail suspension

    • what are they made of
    • This is a question that could easily be answered by reading the product page! If you just scan it really quickly you can see that hey, these silk ropes are made of rope! It also gives you a link explaining the care of the materials, which is this link! A lot of these questions are better left off of the forums! :)

Rope is typically made of hemp, linen, cotton or (as in this case) silk. To say that rope is made of rope is a bit redundant. :D

But yeah, materials are always listed on the product's page, billybobtoy. It'll always be to the left of the product's picture, and it'll link to some basic care instructions. Though if you need more in-depth information, don't hesitate to ask.
