Form 2 - discreet vibrator by Jimmyjane - review by liilii080

The Form 2 is unlike any other vibrator I've ever seen. This unique, creative design, that is part of Jimmyjane's Pleasure to the People campaign, certainly caught my eye. What can I say? I'm a girl who loves pink (it also comes in slate). Form 2, in addition to being uniquely shaped and vibrantly colored, has a host of attributes I want in a vibrator. It's waterproof, rechargeable, cordless, small, discreet, quiet, powerful, and it comes with a 3 year warranty. Unbelievable. For all these reasons and more, I think the Form 2 could be at home in almost anyone's toy box. The small size and intense, but variable, vibration speeds and patterns make this toy great for advanced users and beginners alike. If you want some solo time with the Form 2, it will deliver but this toy is also fantastic for couples play. The design and weight are unobtrusive for foreplay or use during sex and will please both partners nicely. While Form 2 was designed as a clitoral stimulator, it also feels nice on the nipples, neck, lower back, perineum, shaft, and other erogenous zones. This toy should be used on the external body parts and is not recommend for insertion. The ears aren't that flexible!

The Form 2 has a velvety 100% silicone exterior that is medical-grade, nonporous, phthalate-free, and feels smooth and sensuous to the touch. Because of the silicone coating, there is a slight drag when rubbed against bare skin but a drop or two of water-based lube creates an easy gliding motion. There is a small seam running around the sides of the toy but it is undetectable during use, especially with lube.

The bottom of the Form 2 is covered by a round, quarter-sized piece of stainless steel and a rubber ring. The stainless steel ring connects to the charging base and allows the toy to recharge while the rubber piece keeps the unit waterproof.

The entire toy has no odor, taste, or texture, except the power buttons under the silicone skin on the face of the unit.

The design is divine! I love the way Form 2 looks like rabbit ears. The two individual motors of the vibrator are located in the ears, which are firm, but flexible for pinching and provide what Jimmyjane calls "sensation in stereo." Each ear is about an inch in length. The round head of the rabbit houses the controls under the silicone skin and is very firm. There is no give to the unit there at all. The unit overall is 3 inches in length, weighs about a pound, and has a reassuring, weighty feel in the hand. I have small hands but for me, it feels about like gripping a heavy plum. I'm in love with the size of this toy because I primarily bought it to use in conjunction with my partner, though it serves me well on its own too. The toy is small enough to sit on my nightstand all the time without it taking up a ton of space or knocking it over every time I turn on the lamp.

The downside of this toy is The Fatal Flaw. I knew all about it from other reviews before I bought it, so I refuse to let it deter me from appreciating the power and pleasure the Form 2 gives me. I find The Flaw most prominent in the first steady vibration setting when it gets caught around some of the skin of my labia. The vibrations then move out of the ears and into the head of the body, but I have not had this accompanied by any loud, obnoxious noises. When it happens, I just shake it a little and move on. Life is too short to sweat the small stuff!

The Form 2 has very few buttons and is pretty intuitive to use. The three buttons are a +, -, and ~ and all are located on the front of the unit underneath the silicone cover. The + turns the unit on and increases the vibrations, the - turns the unit off or decreases the vibrations, and the ~ changes the vibration pattern. You can also lock the unit for travel by pressing the + and ~ buttons simultaneously for about 2 seconds; it's the same to unlock.

The Form 2 has 4 advertised vibration patterns and 5 speeds to include:
1-constant- steady vibration
2-oscillation- slow vibration wave moving side to side
3-thrum- increasing vibration in a wave from low to high
4-pulse- fast vibrations in quick succession
5-"anarchy"- a little bit of everything and you don't know what's next (triggered by pushing the + and - buttons in rapid succession 3 times--not in the manual)

I don't really get anything out of patterns 2 and 4 and I sometimes hit The Flaw in mode 1 but overall, vibration modes 1, 3, and 5 really move me. Patterns 3 and 5 were an unexpected surprise since I'm not usually a fan of vibration patterns. Also, the vibrations are really unique. First, they resonate from the ears of the unit so you're able to surround your clit and other parts with vibrations for an intensely stimulating experience. Second, they have a fluttery, but deep quality to them that is less buzzy than a bullet but more surfacey than a wand. As a power queen, I wasn't sure it would be enough for me, but they do get me there and they do it quietly. With a little background noise and a heavy blanket or a closed door, there's no way anyone would hear this thing. If you have roommates or thin walls, this is a great unit for you.

The charging station is also really great. There are 2 pieces: a small, white, plastic square with little metal prongs, and a cord that plugs into the wall and into the square. The square part is smaller than a credit card. You can leave the Form 2 on the white plastic charging station at all times without worrying about overcharging your unit. While you have to charge the unit 8 hours before you can use it, that's the hardest part--the waiting. Each time after the initial charge, a single 2 hour charge will give you 7 hours of play time. There is a small, white light that displays near the control buttons on the Form 2 to let you know your unit is charging and when you take it off the dock, it blinks to let you know how well charged it is. I do find that the plug piece from the wall that connects to the flat docking station can sometimes come loose, but that is the beauty of the white light. No light means I need to check the cords and the cradle. No more worries about dead toys!

Because Form 2 has a silicone exterior, it should only be used with water-based lube. Since the toy is waterproof, Jimmyjane says just to wash the unit with antibacterial soap and water, dry it well with a lint-free towel, and make sure it is dry before you put it back on the charging station. I don't see why you couldn't use toy wipes with it though. But never boil it; you'll kill the motors!

As for the docking station, it can also be cleaned by unplugging it, wiping it with a damp cloth, and drying it thoroughly before plugging it back in. The toy is small so I leave it plugged in all the time on the top of my nightstand and you, again, don't have to worry about it overcharging. I have noticed that the toy can pick up trace amounts of random fuzzies but they come off easily with a quick dip in the sink. If you are going to put it in your toy box, wrap it up or keep it separate from other silicone toys to avoid damage.

I like the box the Form 2 comes in. It is cute and eye-catching, with pictures of the toy and information about it on all sides. It is quite a bit larger than the toy--maybe 10 inches in height and 4 or 5 inches wide. Inside are the instructions in multiple languages, a plastic pull out case that holds the Form 2 and its charging supplies. I wouldn't store it in the box, but I would keep it as a nice place to put it back in if I moved often. The instructions are thorough and include the instructions to register your product online. Overall, I have no complaints and like the way the Form 2 is packaged.

The Form 2 had a bit of a learning curve for me for a couple of reasons. It is a much more discreet, gentle toy from the Hitachi I have been using. Unlike the Hitachi that rips an orgasm from you, the Form 2 tickles, teases, and coaxes them, and I don't mind the little bit of work it takes. Also, as a bit of a toy grinder, you can't really do this without triggering The Flaw so I'm getting creative with what I do to get my orgasms. While that may sound like a drawback for some, I am happy for the work and the results! Also, if you are more sensitive than I am, you probably won't have that same problem.

I wanted something to use with my partner. I wanted something travel friendly, something rechargeable, and this is it. The Form 2 has met all of my expectations and I love it in spite of, and for, its quirks (and that awesome pink color). Highly recommend!
