The Velvet Touch vibe from Doc Johnson is so girly and soft! I think every girl should have one of these as their basic vibrator. The colors to choose from are pink, lavender, magenta, and rose. I chose the pink because I'm a girly-girl and I love the powdery cotton candy pink color. The Velvet Touch takes 2 AA batteries and has a turn dial on the base which gives you a variety of vibrations speeds. The vibrations are strong and mostly felt through the middle to the tip of the vibe.

The Velvet Touch feels sinfully soft because of the velvety coating. The vibrator is made out of plastic and it's waterproof! This is a great vibrator for anyone looking for something soft, basic, with just the right amount of length and width. This is a great vibe for beginners or advanced users!

When I first felt the Velvet Touch I instantly understood how they came up with the name. It's so soft and velvety! It's made out of phthalate free plastic. I like plastic vibrators because they are safe, inexpensive, and easy to clean. The velvet touch is a traditional vibe and doesn't have any bumps or swirls. I like the simplicity of this vibrator because to me it's something I would use more often compared to bigger and more textured vibrators that I would only use on "certain occasions" when the mood strikes. The Velvet Touch is the perfect go-to vibrator and I think every girl should own one! Plus it comes in a variety of cute colors to choose from. This would be a great vibrator for a beginner but also for more advanced users that want something simple and easy to take care of.

I really like the simple design of the Velvet Touch. It's just the right amount of length and width without being too big or too small. There is 6" of insertable length and it's 1" wide. The tip is slightly rounded and reminds me of the tip of a bullet. This is great if you want to press it against your clit because it makes the vibrations more concentrated on that area. I think the velvety texture and the cute colors adds that extra luxurious touch to this vibrator. This is perfect for a beginner because it's not intimidating at all. I'm personally not a beginner and I have a few other vibrators in my collection and even though I've tried many different ones the Velvet Touch remains one of my favorites because of it's simplicity and reliability. The silky touch from this vibrator feels amazing against the skin (with or without lube!) and the vibrations are strong.

I personally wouldn't take this vibrator with me when traveling but I suppose you could as long as you remember to take out the batteries! The bottom has a twist dial and it might turn itself on if it gets knocked around. If someone finds it it's pretty obvious what it is! So it's not entirely discreet. The length makes it a little difficult to hide unlike smaller travel vibes so that might be a problem. Also the vibrations are a little loud so I think it's best to just keep it at home.

The Velvet Touch has a twist dial base. The vibrations range from low to high. The twist dial is a nice feature because you can adjust it to get your perfect vibration setting. To turn the vibrator on all you have to do is twist the bottom in tiny increments. It's really simple to operate! I found that the dial doesn't turn easily and it takes me both hands to adjust. This may or may not be a good thing. The bad thing about this is that you can't adjust the vibration while it's inserted unless you hold it with one hand and adjust the dial with the other. The good thing about a dial that's difficult to turn is that you're less likely to twist the dial on accident.

The Velvet Touch is waterproof! I've noticed that some toys say they are waterproof but are actually just "splash proof" meaning they aren't meant to be submersed in water (like the bath tub.) This vibrator is totally sealed shut at the end because of a rubber ring inside that helps to keep the water out of the battery compartment. I've only used this vibrator is the shower but from the looks of it I'm sure taking it in the tub wouldn't be a problem.

The vibrations are strong and loud. It's not crazy loud but it's loud enough to be heard through the walls.

The Velvet Touch is made out of plastic so it's really easy to clean. Plus it's waterproof so as long as the cap is on tight you don't need to worry about getting it wet. You can use hot water and antibacterial hand soap but I'd highly recommend getting a toy wash. Toy washes contain conditioning ingredients like vitamin E to help keep your toys conditioned and looking like new. Plastic and other materials can start looking dried out with constant washings so it's important to wash your toys with cleaners made just for them. There's some great choices here on Edenfanatasys. Antibacterial sprays work well to temporarily sanitize your toys but I'd highly recommend washing it just to make sure. To store the Velvet Touch I use the plastic box it came in.

You can use water or silicone based lube with the Velvet Touch.

The Velvet Touch came in a very simple plastic box. The plastic is thin, clear, and bends easily. It reminds me of the type of plastic that a plastic water bottle is made of. There are tabs on the top and bottom that fold in. The top tab also has a hole for hanging up in a retail store. There's purple polka dots and designs on the outside with white/grey lettering.

I kept the box and I use it for storage because it's all I have at the moment. The bottom tab doesn't want to stay shut because of the rigid plastic so eventually I'm going to find something else to store it in. The packaging was informative and there was no need for an instruction book. It would definitely make a nice gift!
