Beauty's Punishment - book discontinued by Dutton - review by Experiment

Anne Rice wrote the series under the pseudonym Rocquelaire, but despite the name change she manages to provide her usual fantastic writing ability to the story.

This book explores a fantasy sadomasochistic world, and due to it's description of the community that includes love and tenderness between 'master' and 'slave' it's likely to appeal to those who belong to the s&m community. The book does have relationships and scenes that include heterosexual, gay male, and gay female partnering so the book can be appealing no matter what your sexual orientation is. Just a brief warning: there is a small bestiality scene involving a cat performing oral sex on a woman. If you're someone who finds that disturbing, I suggest you just skip that chapter and don't let it scare you away from the rest of the erotic tromp.

This book is the sequel to "The Claiming of Sleeping Beauty," and it furthers the plot of Beauty and her experiences being a slave in a sadomasochistic world after being sold to a woman who owns a brothel and also introduces us to Tristan, a male slave who is acquired by a kind man who quickly falls in love with Tristan. The book features some really great erotic scenes, with some pretty boring stuff in between. I recommend you skip over the fluff and have a great time enjoying the truly dirty erotica.

This book doesn't have the same cover that is listed on the site. It has a more tasteful black, white, and pink cover that would make it easier to get away with reading in public. The most smut on the outside of the book is a reference to 50 Shades of Gray. It's the standard book size and is soft cover.

I really enjoy this series. These scenes have a way of really turning me on, and I enjoy most of it. While there are some scenes that are boring or poorly written, overall I really do recommend you try the series.
