I requested this book when I was first entering a D/S relationship. I thought that this book would help me with the basics of understanding how a D/S relationship works. I think this book would work best for people who are just interested in learning how what a D/S relationship means, and not necessarily how it works. The book explains the basics such as trust with your partner and using safe words. The book also explains the needs of a bottom and the responsibility of a top. The book explains that it might be useful for the top to read the book on bottoming for the top to better understand the needs of a bottom. This book has interesting stories by the authors of their experiences as being both a top and a bottom.

I think this book would be best for someone who is exploring the possibilities of a D/S relationship. The book really doesn't give much advice of activities that you can do with your sub. The book explains more of the needs of your sub and how to be a responsible top.

I really wish this book contained more about what kind of activities that you can do with your bottom. I wish there was more exercises that the book would explain that you could use to build a better relationship and trust with your bottom. I wanted more specific advice on how to top, but the good thing about this book is that it makes it clear that there is no right or wrong way to top. You need to do what works for you and your bottom. This book helped me realize that I need to be comfortable with myself and my style of topping. I really appreciate that this book lets you know that you may have to try different things and that it takes time for you and your partner to find what is right for you in your relationship.
