2-in-1 candle
This rich scented candle is the perfect thing to set the mood for an evening! But since it isn't just a candle, you can surprise your lover with its warm, melted wax, as you give him/her a sensual massage. This might be the only candle that will get you laid.Published: June 19, 2009
Pros:
Perfect for setting the mood and getting the juices flowing!
Cons:
Can be messy while pouring.
These candles are so nice to create the lush ambiance perfect for sweet lovemaking, but there is more than meets the eye. Firstly, and most obviously, you have the nice candle light. And as far as candles go this one is really nice, which is obvious as soon as you see the package it comes in. It comes with a classy little box of matches too, for those of us who love the details.
Secondly you have the rich aroma, which scintillates your senses with luxuriant languor. I got the bourbon-scented candle and really loved it. It was a musky, earthy smell, which to me is really sexy. You can actually smell the candle when it isn't lit, too, which I enjoyed even when not tangled in my lover's body.
Even if this was the extent of the functionality of this candle, it would be a nice buy. But there's more. The wax has a low melting point so it melts quickly, turning into a silky smooth massage oil. You pour the warm, melted, wax onto your lover and move right into a sensual massage. This will seriously set the tone for a romantic adventure.
This candle could be a fun introduction to wax play (dripping hot wax on your skin) in a way that isn't so intimidating. Or if you're just interested in the warm, scented, oil to get the juices flowing, it works either way.
Above all else, this is one sensual tool to set the tone. Even though it's pricey for a candle, you really have to remember that it's more like a nice scented candle and massage oil. Those two things could easily cost as much as this candle.
One downside is that, because you pour the melted wax out of the candle container, you don't have a lot control over the pouring; especially if this was the only light you had on. I would consider keeping some light on so you don't end up pouring way too much all over your partner or getting it all over your sheets. It washes out in the laundry, but it can get kind of messy.

Jimmy Jane Afterglow candles- Best Scent?
-
what's the best Jimmy Jane afterglow scent? or the better ones?
-
Well, first off, there are lots of threads on the scent of these candles already. But ignoring that, I think it's really up to your preference in smell.
In my experience, all the scents are fairly high quality, so it just depends on what you like. I personally favor the Dark Vanilla and Bourbon scents. My good friend prefers the Water Cucumber, while it is totally not for me. Some people love the Truffle Gardenia, but it's comparatively very floral. I would really like to try the Vetiver Honey in the ember series.
My recommendation would be to go with what is most similar to your usual favorite scent. Sweet edibles? Masculine spices? Flowers? Citrus? Or you could always try the sampler. More expensive but awesome :-) -

The special edition scents look tempting, but I would also like to make sure I purchase something both my partner and I would like. Also I kind of wanted to get a general sense of what is most widely liked. Which I feel I could have gotten with a poll, but unfortunately I am not sure how to do that. I did see a post explaining that to post a poll it the option is next to the post discussion option, but I have seen no such poll option.

Can you describe the scents of the Afterglow massage candles from Jimmyjane?
-
If your own words and from your own personal experience can you please describe what the different scents are like? I'm having trouble deciding on which ones to get. Thanks! =]

I did a review on the Afterglow Sampler set, but this is what I have with the scents.
Cucumber Water smells like a crisp, clear, watered down version of a cucumber melon scent, and is quite possibly my favorite. Pink Lotus has a decidedly floral scent to it; not overpowering but definitely there. It's hard to pinpoint anything more specific than "floral" for me on that one. Truffle + Gardenia (the special edition one, also available as a regular Ember candle) is also hard for me to pinpoint. It smells like an earthy floral to me, a more involved scent. Bourbon smells sweet to me, almost like molasses or something else I'd bake with. Dark Vanilla still smells like a generic "vanilla cookie" scent to me. And Grapefruit. To me, there's a hint of citrus and a whole lot more of something I can't put my finger on. When I first smelled it I thought back to the Habanero + Grapefruit mini Ember I have, only this is a little less spicy to the nose. JJ claims notes of grapefruit, bell peppers, and mandarin for this one. -
Thanks! I think the ones I want to try most are Dark Vanilla, Cucumber Water, and the Truffle Gardenia... and the Bourbon. Jeez I want to smell them all. Choosing which to buy online is difficult but I'm sure whichever one I choose I'll love it anyway. =]

Afterglow Packaging

I was just curious - Jimmyjane has changed the style of the Afterglow candle to the "pour spout" that's rocked by the Ember. Is EF still selling the old style with the brush as indicated by the picture?
FYI I'm in favor of the pour divot format! -
This is something I'd like to know, too. *Bump*
-
The new version features a spout for easy pouring and that is what currently available on EF.

Thank you for viewing Afterglow – massage candle review page!

I have one of these and used the brush for application. It provided a thin coat of oil that didn't drip or run anywhere but where it was applied and it felt fabulous to have the soft bristles leaving a trail of warm wax/oil over each bit that was being massaged.
The pool of wax/oil stayed in the candle for long enough for us to do a full body massage, dipping the brush in each time we moved along to a new body part.
Plus... none on the sheets that way!
Thanks for the review!
Great review
Thanks for review.
