Can you describe the scents of the Afterglow massage candles from Jimmyjane?

If your own words and from your own personal experience can you please describe what the different scents are like? I'm having trouble deciding on which ones to get. Thanks! =]

I did a review on the Afterglow Sampler set, but this is what I have with the scents.

Cucumber Water smells like a crisp, clear, watered down version of a cucumber melon scent, and is quite possibly my favorite. Pink Lotus has a decidedly floral scent to it; not overpowering but definitely there. It's hard to pinpoint anything more specific than "floral" for me on that one. Truffle + Gardenia (the special edition one, also available as a regular Ember candle) is also hard for me to pinpoint. It smells like an earthy floral to me, a more involved scent. Bourbon smells sweet to me, almost like molasses or something else I'd bake with. Dark Vanilla still smells like a generic "vanilla cookie" scent to me. And Grapefruit. To me, there's a hint of citrus and a whole lot more of something I can't put my finger on. When I first smelled it I thought back to the Habanero + Grapefruit mini Ember I have, only this is a little less spicy to the nose. JJ claims notes of grapefruit, bell peppers, and mandarin for this one.

Thanks! I think the ones I want to try most are Dark Vanilla, Cucumber Water, and the Truffle Gardenia... and the Bourbon. Jeez I want to smell them all. Choosing which to buy online is difficult but I'm sure whichever one I choose I'll love it anyway. =]

My personal favorites are the Dark Vanilla and the Cucumber Water. But the only one that I really think might bother anybody at all is the Grapefruit, so you should enjoy any one you get

I don't really like grapefruit so I'll probably skip that one without any regrets. Bourbon intrigues me but I don't know if I'd like that one either.

If you pick up the sampler set, the only "bad" one in there is the grapefruit, which you can burn as ambiance and it doesn't fill the whole room with scent. At least it doesn't on my end. Then you can try all the ones you want to, and a few others

Oh ok. The sampler looks awesome!

My Man considers himself a Bourbon and whiskey aficionado, and he says the Bourbon scent reminds him the way a well aged Bourbon tastes. I find the smell very masculine, but I still use it on both of us.

The Sampler is a great way to get an idea of what you like.

I gave descriptions of the scents in my review, if you want to read it. review with scent description We didn't care for the Grapefruit or the Vanilla (although its nicer than most vanilla candles, My Man said it was too sweet) but we got some great ideas for buying full candles.

Truffle gardenia smells just like a gardenia, and the truffle seems to cut the sharpness that gardenia can have. I would call it an earthy floral fragrance. Very exotic and luxurious.

I'm really interested in the gingersnap right now with fall coming soon. I'm hoping it smells like a gingersnap cookie and not yucky/spicy, you know what I mean?

Absolutely get the Afterglow Sampler. It's amazing. We've been doing massages for over 20 years, and have never enjoyed then as much as we do with these.

Waah, the one I keep thinking about is gingersnap, but I can't find anyone's opinion on it! Has anyone tried it? I must have descriptions! Why do I always like the weird thing? T-T

I got the dark vanilla. There is a review pending on it by me, but I can tell you it's delicious! I tried many vanilla scented candles before and all were so synthetic smelling. This is something real

lol. I was wondering about it as well, but haven''t tried it yet. I'm wondering if a local store might have them...

I wish my town were cool enough to have these, I hope yours is!

I've been looking at gingersnap for quite a while, so I suppose I might just need to jump in and try. But I'm pretty low on funds and will use acquired points--so I must choose wisely!

If I do get it, I'll try to remember to write a review. This one has had no attention. So sad!

I've got a review up (from the nose of a person with fragrance sensitivities (thank goodness for Afterglow! Finally something smells good and doesn't give me a headache!) over here that goes over all the 9 scents I've tried. The only one I disliked is grapefruit, but bourbon, vanilla, lychee+lapsang, and absinthe+sugarwater are my favorites.
