Creamy and Smooth

Dona's bath milk powder is a wonderful product to add to your bath time. It makes your skin feel soft and smooth and I love the way the water looks rich and creamy after you add it. The scent is very nice, too. To me, it is perfect for a nice hot bath to relax at the end of a hard day.

Use

Dona's bath milk is a powder to add to your bath water to transform your bath into a skin moisturizing, relaxing experience. It clouds the water to a creamy white color and is lightly scented. I have the Camu camu scent, which I will describe later on. It contains powdered milk, which has been used for centuries to soothe and moisturize the skin in baths. Cleopatra herself was said to bathe in milk to make her skin beautiful. It is a wonderful product to use for a relaxing bath at the end of the day.

Texture / Consistency / Thickness / Viscosity

Dona's bath milk is a powder, very similar to powdered milk or creamer. Which makes sense because it is made from powdered milk. It does clump together in the jar, and these clumps will remain in your bath water if you don't break them up. To avoid big clumps in my bath water, I scoop some out with a dry hand and break the clumps up as I sprinkle it into the water before I get in. The clumps can be broken up if some remain in the water, but it is easier to do before the powder gets wet.

Once the powder has dissolved, it makes the water look creamy and it gives the water a bit of a slick, smooth feel on your skin.

Taste / Aroma

I love the smell of the camu camu line. It smells very green and fresh, slightly floral with sweet undertones. It reminds me a little of walking through a forest after a heavy rain. I can detect a slight vanilla under tone, but I can't identify any of the floral elements. Because of the milk ingredients, the bath powder has a slight creamy undertone to the scent as well, like fresh cream. I was a little worried that it might end up souring if I didn't rinse after using it, but it didn't. The first time I used it I was careful to not rinse or use any scented lotions after I got out of the bath just to see if I could detect a sour smell the next day and I couldn't.

Even though this bath milk powder is made from powdered milk, it isn't edible and I haven't tasted it. I would imagine it just tastes like chemicals since it does contain fragrances. Don't put it in your coffee, put it in your bath!

Performance

This stuff makes for a very nice bath! I find that it does a very good job of moisturizing my skin. It feels very soft and smooth after I use it in a bath, and as an added benefit I find it makes it a lot easier to get a smooth shave when I use it. The softness of my skin lasts long after I dry off, as well. It doesn't leave a noticeable residue on my skin, either. As I said, I worried that if I didn't rinse I would find a sour smell on my skin the next day from residual milk in my pores, but I did not. I don't feel the need to wash off or rinse in clear water after a bath with the bath milk.

The ingredient are dry powdered milk, magnesium sulfate (Epsom salt), hydrolyzed collagen, camu camu fruit powder, and fragrance. Unless you are allergic to milk I don't think any of these ingredients would irritate your skin, so I think this would be a pretty good bath product for people with sensitive skin.

Special Features

The Dona line claims to be aphrodisiac infused, and camu camu is an aphrodisiac, but I don't think there is much of an aphrodisiac quality to the product itself. However, in my opinion, a nice relaxing hot bath, especially one that moisturizes the skin like the bath milk does, can be an aphrodisiac in itself. It makes you feel good, and that can go a long way towards putting you in the mood.

It's a shame that this clumps - I was thinking of suggesting that you put rice in it and see if that absorbs the moisture, but then I realized that you'd just wind up with rice in your water, ha. Thanks for the feedback!

This is about the only Dona product I've not tried (besides the lip balm). I was hesitant because I wasn't completely happy with the other Dona items, so I never got these. Thanks for describing the scent. Not sure it'd work for me. I think I'll wait for those others to come in stock -- the other ones you reviewed (except in pomegranate!) If you had to choose between these and those others, which do you think are best? I know you mentioned the others leaving your skin soft... Or are they both really nice? Just wonderin' Great review!
