Easy clean up for those of us who get a little dirty in bed (and don't want to get out!)

Though it might not replace the good old soap and water treatment for some items, this toy cleaner is invaluable for those of us who can't always get to a sink after our little romps. The scent is lovely, price is great for the amount of product and it cleans my toys up wonderfully.

useful review
My living situation means I can't always just pop to the sink to rinse off toys after use, so having this toy-cleaner in the drawer is a life saver. Plus, sometimes those bathroom tiles are awfully cold at night! Personally, I just spritz it on the toy a few times and then wipe it off with a couple of tissues. This gets rid of any gunk stuck on most of my toys, sometimes with a second round of spritzing needed for certain textures. However, for jelly this method doesn't work as well as you'll get lint stuck to the toy from wiping it off with a tissue (or even with a paper towel/cloth).

I do still like to use soap and water when I can, but I feel confident that this cleaner leaves my toys nice and clean when I put them away right after use. Whilst I can't substantiate this with any sort of bacterial analysis, if nothing else, it's far better than putting them away dirty when I can't pop out of bed! It's also a quick and easy process, which is always a plus.

Surprisingly, the scent is somewhat fruity, I actually love it. It's not soapy or medicinal at all! I also haven't had any reactions from the cleaner, but I'm not particularly sensitive in that regard. I bought the 8 oz bottle and I think that will last me quite some time! Though I spray my toys pretty thoroughly to clean them off I've barely used any of the product. The spray top is simple to use and delivers a good amount of product and has a clear plastic cap to prevent any accidental leakages when stored. Overall, I couldn't be happier with how this cleaner shapes up and I'll definitely repurchase when (or if) my bottle runs out.
Follow-up commentary
I am still in love with this toy cleaner. A couple of sprays is plenty to clean off the gunk from almost all of my toys and I've barely used any of the bottle considering the amount of cleaning I've done with it! The scent hasn't started to bug me either, it's still fresh and sweet and unlike normal 'cleaner' sorts of scents which can be harsh and chemical. The only downside is toys that like to pick up lint aren't as easy to clean with this because I usually use tissues to wipe up with and they tend to stick. All said and done it's a really handy thing to pop in your drawer to prevent you from having to do the dreaded trek to the bathroom after every play session.

I think I need to invest in some of this stuff...I'm pretty anal about my toys being clean, but it's such a pain to haul your butt outta bed and clean them up right after a delightful play session Winking Thanks for your review!

  • What does before & after do.. before you use it?
    • Is it both a lubricant and a sanitizer? how does that work?
    • It is not a lubricant but merely cleans the toys. When the toy is sitting around, it gathers fungal spores, dust, and bacteria.
    • Before you use it it sits there and looks pretty :P

In theory you're supposed to use it before you use your toys and then after you use your toys to ensure optimal cleanness. At least according to the bottle.

  • Before & After Toy Cleaner...
    • This one got lots of great reviews, but I've got a couple of questions for all you reviewers who use this. The description says you have to "spray, wipe, then rinse" but most of the reviews say no rinsing required. Can you guys confirm there's no residue if you don't rinse? One review mentioned it didn't clean the crevices of textured toys well. Anyone else have that experience? Would you say it replaces the soap & water routine completely?
    • Nah, it doesn't replace soap and water, in my opinion. It may be because I've used soap and water for so long, but I just don't see the benefit to spraying something and then wiping it off. I find the cleaner hard to wipe off on toys w/ texture, and maybe I'm nuts, but then I don't feel like a toy is really clean. It would do in a pinch, but I don't mind soap and water so that's what I go for 90% of the time.
    • I like the the idea of toy cleaner but I always wondered what exactly you wipe down with? What's a good cloth for that?
