"Fasten your seatbelts. It's going to be a bumpy night."

The Magic Wand is perfect for anyone who prefers a stronger vibration from their toys. It has an easy-to-use design, but not much variation in speed, but always delivers incredible and intense orgasms. No need to worry about buying batteries for this product.

Pros:
Great for those who enjoy stronger vibrators.
Cons:
Lack of variable speeds and has a porous head.

Use

This vibrator is only intended for clitoral stimulation. However, it can be used as a legitimate massager for any sore muscles. I have tried to use it to stimulate my nipples, though it doesn't seem to work quite as well as lower intensity vibrators. Perhaps the sensation is too strong. It can be used alone or with a partner. The noise level is pretty high, so if you aren't living alone or are with someone who doesn't mind hearing you getting off, I'd suggest putting on something to muffle the noise or waiting for some alone time.

Material / Texture

This product is odor free. I haven't been able to find an authoritative source that says what the massager's head is made of, though this eBay review lists it as vinyl. The material is firm but not completely hard, there is a little give to the head. It is porous, so cleanup after every use or using a condom or other protective material is essential. The texture isn't noticeable during use, so it does not add any extra stimulation. The head attached to a neck that allows for a bit of flexibility during use. However, there are attachments that slip over the head that allow for some extra texture or penetration:

Penetration:
G-Plus Massager Attachment

Texture:
Off With Their Head silicone cap
Pleasure Dome

Both:
Gee Whizzard

Its handle and controls are made of hard plastic that haven't shown any wear or breakage in the two years that I've had this product.
    • No odor
    • Porous
    • Rigid

Design / Shape / Size

Length: 12"
Head Circumference: 6 3/4"
Head Diameter: 2 3/8"

The Magic Wand has a very straight-forward design - a rounded head roughly the size of a tennis ball and a long handle with a simple control switch. However, the lack of flexibility in the handle makes holding it for any extended period of time not all that fun. I've had my hand go a little numb from holding it too long and my wrist start to hurt, so I would suggest switching hands from time to time if you're using this for more than 10 minutes. There are products from the Liberator line that allow for hands-free use of the Magic Wand. Its length and the cord it comes with make for some bulk that isn't travel-friendly and sometimes a little hard to hide. I keep mine in a drawer beneath my bed that is hidden by the bedskirt, so anyone in my bedroom is none the wiser as to what is down there.

Functions / Performance / Controls

There are only two speeds on the Magic Wand - intense and REALLY intense. This is really a double-edged sword with the toy. On one hand, the lower setting is usually the speed/intensity that I prefer, but it doesn't give you much of a choice. I have seen controls that allow you to vary the speed, but I've never tried them. I've only used the higher setting once and found it far too strong to provide any real pleasure. The round head doesn't direct the vibration very well, it's more spread out than other vibrators. While it does feel great and has given me almost two years worth of great orgasms, it takes a little time to find a way to position it to get maximum stimulation. I've found that holding it still while rocking my hips has worked the best, but that's a personal choice. The product is very loud, though I suppose you could always say you have a sore back because it does double as a massager. Only the head should come in contact with water, the rest of the wand is not waterproof and will short out.
    • Long lasting power
    • Not discreet at all
    • Strong patterns

Care and Maintenance

Hot water and some mild soap are the best way to clean the head. To prevent any accidental water contact with the handle, use a washcloth to clean the head and hold it facing downward. The box makes for good storage and is discreet enough to pass off as a simple back massager. The few times that I have used it directly against my body, I've used water-based lubricant and haven't had any negative reactions with the head of the Magic Wand.
    • Easy to clean
    • Easy to store

Packaging

The toy comes in a rectangular package that displays its use as a back/shoulder massager and can be used to store the product. Its use is pretty simple with only three settings on the controls - High, Off, Higher, so I don't remember the detail of the instructions, if there were any, but it's easy to figure out.
    • Discreet looking packaging
    • Good for storage
    • Minimal

Experience

This toy is definitely not for everyone, especially anyone who can't handle intense vibrations or who are in a living situation where the noise from this toy would be an issue. During play, I usually have some material between my body and the wand (a pair of panties or pajama pants, typically) to diffuse some of the intensity. Other users have preferred a towel or thicker material. I would like to try it with one of the attachments that allow for penetration because I've found the most intense orgasms come from using it in tandem with a dildo. However, I have never been let down by this vibrator and love that it doesn't need batteries to operate. I would prefer it if it were rechargeable instead of needing to be plugged in, but I've almost always used it in bed. Still, a little portability would be nice.

  • Good alternative to Hitachi?
    • I had a rechargeable mini fairy wand, but last week it ended up breaking, and now I'm desperately looking for a similar type wand massager. I've looked at a couple, but I'd really like some input on which massager people are recommending. Thanks!
    • I have 3 wand massagers that I use at times. There are things I love and hate about all of them. The hitachi is the most powerful one, but it is so loud! The Wahl 2 speed is also great. It is the quietest and I love how rumbly the vibes are! But none of the attachments are quite right for me. If I could only have one wand I would get Inspire. It has a button that you press and release when the power is at your desired strength. In stead of just 2 speeds like the hitachi or the wahl you have control over how much power you want to use. The Inspire has a detachable silicone head. My complaints are that it gets hot after about 20 minutes, at at the higher speeds it gets pretty loud. Your toy was rechargable, but the wands I listed all plug in and have more power. Good luck with your replacement!

Ooh, thanks! Yeah, the rechargeable wands tend to get really hot too, plus it would die after 20-30 minutes, so I needed to stay near an outlet at all times. Noise isn't really an issue for me (at least not right now). The one I had before had an adjustable wheel for vibration intensity, but to be honest, I always turned it all the way up and never changed it, so maybe I don't really need adjustable speeds.

I've never tried any of the detachable heads. Are they worth buying?

  • Will it be out of stock until the sale is over?
    • Ekk! It is out of stock again! I keep missing it. I finally have enough to buy it but I guess the discount made it sell like crazy. Does it typically not come back in until the sale is over?

Panicing a bit because I'm moving soon and will need to purchase it within the next week.
    • You can open a support ticket from your account dashboard to ask about it. If they know when it'll be coming in they'll be happy to tell you.

  • Strength
    • Are there any stronger vibrators out there?
    • Quote: Are there any stronger vibrators out there?
Probably not for less than fifty dollars. A friend of mine is saving for the Sybian or The Rock Box. I can't speak from experience about either of those vibrators though. However, if you want something similar to the Hitachi, I would suggest either The Wahl or a Fairy Wand. I own the Hitachi, Wahl, and Fairy Mini but highly suggest the Wahl. It is the most rumbly of the three and is nearly silent.

I think the Hitachi is the strongest vibe i know of.

  • Hitachi Wand Vs. Acyvube
    • Is the hitachi better than the acuvibe for anyone who has had the chance to try both? I'm under the impression that they are essentially the same thing but maybe I'm wrong...
    • I have had both, and they are really both very good toys. The main difference really is that the Acuvibe is rechargeable and can be used cordless, while the Hitachi must plug in to work. Personally, I think that the Hitachi is slightly stronger, and it has definitely outlasted my Acuvibes - I have had two, and they both broke down after about six months or so.

We are going on 3+ years on the acuvibe. The shell is starting to crack but it still functions great, I just wanted to know if we should switch when I do want to buy a new one. More powerful sounds good :)

  • The Size !!!!!!!
    • Does the size get in the way ??????? It's so BIGGGGGG........
    • In the way of what, exactly? It's not really a toy for couples play and actually it's not even designed for masturbation but has become the Holy Grail of vibrators through decades of word of mouth.
    • Quote: Does the size get in the way ??????? It's so BIGGGGGG........
It's really only meant for external use. So if you are talking about insertion it probably would be a bit big.

  • Universal
    • Is there a head set for universal attatchments anyone knows of?
    • There are a few. If you search the site you can find a couple.
    • Quote: Is there a head set for universal attatchments anyone knows of?
I don't know if I understand the question, but the attachment we bought for our Hitachi is a "universal" attachment that we bought from another store. It's too "floppy" for me, but is a nice g-spot attachment, or would be if it was a little stiffer!

  • Bullet Vibes that rival the Hitachi Magic Wand
    • Hello, everyone!

Recently I've sold my Hitachi to a friend, and I've been on the market for a new clit vibe. I'm one of those girls who has a "clit-o-steel&quo t;, so I can't really get off unless I have something powerful on my clit. I bought a LAYAspot by FunFactory, thinking it would be a nice, powerful bullet to use when I'm with my partner, and I realized that it barely even packs a punch!

I guess I'm being a bit picky. I don't want something that's as strong as the Hitachi's HIGH setting, but something kind of inbetween the two, one that has a few nice, strong modes.

I was looking at the more expensive clit vibes- JeJoue's MiMi and Lelo's Siri. Do you think that they would be strong enough? Do you recommend anything? Thanks guys!

U had the flexi anal rod prior to the Hitachi..It is strong as well, and it probably right between the hitachi hi and low... I actually prefer the two setting on Hitach..SHIT and OHH SHIT.. The flexi rod has about 4 if i'm not mistaken..Plus it is flexible as well.. Costs about 25.00

Its on a review of mine already..

  • Hitachi
    • This is by far the best purchase I've made. My wife has a tough time reaching orgasm and needs the intense vibrations for her to climax. The Hitachi far exceeds this task, she doesn't use any other toy now, always reaches for the Hitachi. Just need to get her the G-spot attachment and she is set up. Thanks again.
    • I completely agree. The Magic Wand is the best vibrator ever.

  • Have you ever used a wand?
    • HI I was wondering if you have ever used anything like the Fairy Wand? I have used the baby fairy wand but its tiny... the size of the larger ones kind of intimidate me ... what are your thoughts on them and should I get one?
    • I dislike most of them intensely. They're too strong, too big and they make my whole vulva - as well as my hands - feel numb.

      Many folks love them, though!
    • I used the Wanachi Mini, which I really liked. Unfortunately it fell apart, it seems mine wasn't the only one either. I did contact Pipedream though and they seem eager to correct this problem!
