The Hitachi Magic Wand is one of the most famous "massagers" of all time. Invented in 1968 by Hitachi, and intended for use as a body massager for tension and muscle pain, it became famous for use as a sex toy in the late 60s. And for good reason, the intensity of the vibrations that are among the strongest of anything available, particularly in this price range. The only downside is it's not waterproof.

The nice thing about the Magic Wand Original is that it is indeed suitable for so many uses. Want a body massager? Check! Want a clitoral vibrator? Check! Penile Stimulator? Check! And the uses for this toy only increase with the available attachments! There is an attachment for anal use, a rabbit attachment, an attachment to mimic oral to the clit, and a stroker attachment to the penis. Furniture is available as well designed to hold the wand for hands-free use. All that being said, it's a device that all genders and orientation will find pleasure with it!

That said, even without any attachments, it can simply be plugged in and switched on, then placed on the clit or underside of the penis under the head (the frenulum) for gratification.

The outer portion of the Magic Wand is made of plastic, and the head is a thermoplastic rubber. It means the toy is porous and can't be completely sanitized when cleaning. Take a look at the picture shown below. Notice the texture of the head? It isn't completely smooth, regular cleaning with a toy cleaner may especially be wise with this and I would be wary of sharing with anyone other than a committed partner, due to the inability to sanitize the product.

You could also travel with this since it would be impossible for it to be accidentally switched on.

Holy cow this bad boy has power, but he should be reserved for power queens only. There are only two speeds, low and high. No patterns are on this model, that is reserved for the higher price rechargeable version. In reality, though the modes should be high and higher and the one you use will depend on the vibration type you enjoy. Low as marked by "I" on the switch is a deeper rumbly vibration operating at 5,000 rpm. High which is marked as "II" on the switch is slightly buzzier and won't resonate weird as deep into the body. High runs at 6,000 rpm. I always stay on the low speed as I find it to be plenty suitable and actually more satisfying than high is.

The motor within this toy is powered by alternating current and uses 110 volts of power that travel through a 6-foot long cord. You aren't tied down close to an outlet. Furthermore, it is recommended to not run the magic wand for more than 25 minutes at a time. I don't think anyone would need to use it that long and would likely be sexually exhausted before that.

One more thing to remember is that noise from this may cause slight electrical static in some devices such as radios in the house. A slight annoyance that could signal what you are up to in another room.

This magic wand is not waterproof or splashproof. For cleaning, I recommend only careful cleaning of the head using toy cleaner on an unplugged device. Water-based lube may also be a wise choice for lubes as the material comprising the head is iffy. Otherwise storing the toy is easy. Either leave plugged in for quick access or roll the cord up and store the toy wherever is desired.

Those buying the toy won't have to worry because the packaging is 100% innocent. There is no mention of use for sexual purposes. The closest thing to personal use mentioned are the words "personal massager". The box states that the magic wand relaxes sore muscles, and helps relieve tension. It is true, that magic wands are known as being used for sexual purposes, but it can't be proven that is what you bought it for. Only you have to know that it is releasing tension in more ways than one, your balls or pussy! ;)
