The purpose of Cleopatra's secret female arousal creme is to excite the clit, possibly engorging it and making it more sensitive. In turn, you should produce natural lubrication of your own more easily when rubbed or touched. Although the bottle does say that this can be placed "on or around your most sensual places," I didn't find any other areas that were sensitive to this creme (my nipples were disinterested). I think this product will work for anyone who has found a menthol tingle to be exciting prior to this, and it's definitely worth testing if you have never used a product with menthol in it. As for the best timing, I would apply this as part of foreplay. I personally like the taste and wouldn't hesitate to lick it off of someone. Finally, this creme is also sugar-free, but it does contain at least one sugar substitute, and for this reason, if you are extra prone to yeast infections, I would steer clear of this product.

The texture of Cleopatra's secret female arousal creme is, in fact, creamy. It's not greasy or sticky, and it doesn't leave an unwanted residue. It feels tingly and cool at the same time, but in no way does it feel warm (as the back of the bottle says "cool yet warm sensation." It comes with a pump bottle, and it is thick enough to stay in place. With that being said, even though it is pink, it isn't messy. You won't find a pink spot stained on your sheets after use. I also like that a very little goes a long way. One pump is about the size of a pea, and that is more than enough to start things out.

Cleopatra's creme tastes like Halls Fruit Breezers, and I happen to like it more than any of the flavored lubricants or gels that I have used so far. It is less plastic tasting and even less cough medicine tasting than many of the other products out there. I know what you're thinking...but it tastes like a cough drop! That is nothing compared to some of the gels and lubricants that literally make my face pucker up like I'm being given a poorly flavored medicine syrup. The taste of this creme is not super intense, and I love it for that. As for the smell, it consists of a light cherry scent. I smell very little vanilla in it. It smells delicious, so thank goodness it is meant to be edible!

My one complaint and the reason why this product is rated as 4 stars rather than 5 is that I have to reapply this product quite a bit during my solo sessions. During partner play, my natural lubrication kicks in, and I don't need to reapply anything. However, during solo sessions, I sometimes find myself drying up after about 10 minutes. For this reason, I don't find myself washing it off after solo sessions, and instead I just wait until my next shower. After playing with a partner, I tend to rinse everything anyway. I don't find that the creme is any harder to wash off than the bodily fluids. It simply takes a little warm water and soap. Once again, I'd like to warn that those prone to yeast infections may not want to use this product or may at least want to skip being penetrated with it still in the vaginal region.

The pump style for this creme is pretty genius, and the 1 fluid ounce is more than enough for several play sessions. The bottle is marketed towards women with purple and pink tones. I don't worry about this bottle leaking due to both the pump style top and the clear cap that covers it. An ingredients list that can be found on the back includes:
water, mineral oil, cetyl alcohol, glyceryl stearate, PEG-100 stearate, flavor, cetearyl alcohol, polysorbate 60, menthol, xanthan gum, carbomer, triethanolamine, potassium sorbate, sodium benzoate, sodium saccharin, sucralose, diazolidinyl, disodium EDTA, yellow 5, and red 40.

There have been some studies on issues related to red coloring. Red 40 is actually related to aggression and impulsive behavior as a food dye (no wonder it's in an arousal creme). Yellow 5 is linked in some cases to insomnia (once again...interesting item to be put into an arousal creme). Also, the bottle says sugar-free, but sucralose is a sugar-substitute, and sodium saccharin is also used as a sugar-substitute.

I have at least a few arousal cremes, and often the effects are very similar to Cleopatra's arousal creme. However, I have never tried an arousal creme that actually tasted good or even smelled tolerable for that matter. Usually it smells and tastes like hand sanitizer. I also often find that these cremes come in tubes instead of pump-top bottles like Cleopatra's. The tubes can easily become a mess, whereas this bottle is quite secure. If I could only keep one of my arousal cremes, this would be the one I would keep.
