Lelo Let Me Down
This is kind of a give or take product for me. It is a good massage oil, but does not have the pleasant scent that I was hoping for.Published: May 23, 2011
Pros:
Good massage oil
Cons:
Weak, soapy smell
I am so disappointed. I love Lelo products, so I figured that The Lelo Flickering Touch Massage Oil Candle would be a safe bet. I was wrong.
The candle comes in a nice box, simply stating Lelo on the front. Everything else is very small on it so it is very discreet no one will know what it is. Once opened the candle comes in a black glass jar, a silver metal lid with a colored plastic ring on top. The ring varies in color depending on the scent that you get. The scents to choose from are Black Pepper & Pomegranate (with a red ring), Vanilla & Creme De Cacoa (with a burgundy ring), and Snow Pear & Cedarwood (with a green ring). The candle itself is 5.3 ounces.
I got the Snow Pear & Cedarwood. While I would think that this would have to smell good, it smelled more like soap than anything else. Not a particularly good soap at that. Once it was lit, I think it smelled even worse. The scent is very faint and if you step a few feet away, it is non-existent.
With th e other massage candles that I have, if you burn them for 30-45 minutes you have an ample amount of oil to begin your massage. I waited and waited and waited. After almost an hour and a half, I finally had enough oil to call my husband back into the bedroom, where his first question was "What's that smell?" Not quite the response that I had hoped for.
I used a spoon that came with a different candle (this one doesn't come with one) and spooned a small amount of oil onto his back. Now the oil itself is pretty good. It isn't gritty like some that you come across, so in this respect it is pretty good. The oil lasts a long time and doesn't leave a waxy residue on your skin. It also stays an oil long enough for you to massage it into the skin.
As far as a massage oil, as long as you are willing to wait a long time to get the oil, it is good. But as for a candle, personally I will pass on this product in the future. For the price I expected a lot more.

LELO Massage Candles Scent

What is your favorite LELO Aromatherapy Massage Candle (as far as scent). If you disliked one of them, please also let me know. Trying to figure out what to add to my wish list and what not to add!
Here is the comparison URL if you are confused on what products I am referring to:

I got the Vanilla and creme de cacao for myself and husband, and got his parents the Snow pear and cedarwood. I like the vanilla one, but the scent isn't very strong and I can't get it to burn evenly for the life of me. I can't remember exactly what the snow pear smelled like now, but I do remember being glad I got the other one.

I'm really interested in these and the Jimmyjane ones, as well. It's hard to pick a scent, though!

Can you describe the massage candle scents for me?
-
How would you describe in your own words what the Black Pepper & Pomegranate smells like? And the Snow Pear & Cedarwood? Vanilla & Crème de Cacao? Will Vanilla & Crème de Cacao ever come back in stock? I hope so! I'm having trouble deciding if I want one of these or an Afterglow candle...

I've only got the Vanilla and Creme de Cacao, but to me it smells like a very subtle light, crisp vanilla, and some subtle hints of white chocolate. I really can't quite put my finger on anything more specific than that, but I can tell you that I do enjoy the scent quite a bit. It always smells very cool, like temperature wise. I'm not sure why, but I really like it.

I have Snow Pear and Cedarwood. It's a very light, fresh scent and kind of reminds me of soap. The cedar is stronger than the pear.

just wondering if anyone who has tried the lelo flickering massage candle had a clear favorite fragrence?

Though I haven't tried one yet, I've been told the Vanilla scent is the best.
