The Hitachi is a powerhouse of vibration. Great for sexual play as well as sensual massaging. It is absurdly loud, but the vibrations match it. You can hide it in plain sight and no one would be the wiser. Plugs into an outlet...NO batteries needed. This is a great addition to any toy box.

Use

Hitachi Magic Wand was made for body massaging, and that it does. The first thing I did when I opened my package from Eden Fantasys? I ran to my room next to an outlet and tore that sucker open. I had to test out the strength. The Magic Wand has two settings, Low and High... or High and Knock-You-Socks-Off High. Yup, the vibrations were that strong.

I tried out the Hitachi as an actual massager first, let me tell you this will save me countless hours of cramping hands from giving less than great back rubs. The vibrations went deep into the tissue and I just melted. Arms, legs, back, wherever you are sore, this will massage you back to normal. As for a more "personal" use, that was a different story. The vibrations shocked me so much I had to grab a bullet to warm up to it. I kept climbing away because of the intensity of the "low" setting.

Once I was ready for the Hitachi, I was able to climax in about 15 seconds... I attribute that to the prior use of the bullet though. On my next turn with the Hitachi I used it alone and I climaxed in under a minute, then again, and again, and again. I could have kept going I am sure, but didn't want to risk soreness. A few days later I tried the High setting, which sadly I still cannot handle, that setting may be saved for only massage usage.

Please note: This is NOT a toy made for insertion, and I do not recommend it.

I wouldn't really recommend this for an intimate or sex toy, if you are new to vibrators. The level of vibration is earth shaking. I would, however, recommend this to anyone who uses vibrators regularly and is looking for a new toy that is STRONG. I was not desensitized to my regular vibes, I merely climax at an insanely fast pace with the Hitachi. If the vibrations are too strong you could use it over a towel or blanket to stifle the intensity.

I also prefer this to be used as a couple's toy. Mainly because of the weight, your arm will get tired, on the upside you will get great arm muscles.

Material / Texture

There was no discernible scent that came with the Hitachi. The Hitachi is actually pretty well cushioned, I think. It has some give, and won't push too hard if you learn how to hold it to where you are comfortable.

Design / Shape / Size

The Hitachi Magic Wand is large. And heavy. There is no way around that fact. Can you still travel with it? Of course! Since it is a body massager, no one would be the wiser to see it in your luggage. Is it discreet? Well, not in the sense that you can hide it in your purse, or put it in a jewelry box way, but as I said before: this is a massager, you can pick up massagers at your local Walgreens, so having one in your luggage of on your dresser is not going to raise any eyebrows. I am not certain this toy is the best for beginners, but you could always use it for massages until your bravery takes over.

Functions / Performance / Controls

One switch, that's all, Low/Off/High. It's electric, it plugs in. I don't believe you need more than that to explain how it works exactly.

Both functions are great, I use high for back massages and low for "me" massages. The intensity is very high, and I almost wish there was a lower setting, but that is not what the Hitachi was intended for so I won't complain. You can switch from off to high or low or whatever easily since there is only one switch, although the toy is rather top heavy, so I have to move around a lot to find a spot I can hold it up in. Also, after prolonged use your arm will feel funny because of the vibrations.

It's loud... nothing less. The Hitachi is LOUD. There is NO hiding the sound of it. If you are trying to have an evening of romance and you have kids... GO SOMEWHERE ELSE. If your screams don't wake the kids, the vibrator will.

Lastly...and most important: DO NOT use this in water. There is a cord hooked to it, so electricity runs through it and you could become barbeque. I don't want that, please don't try it.

Care and Maintenance

The head of the massager is plastic and can actually be cleaned pretty easily with warm water and soap. I still recommend toy cleaner because of the glycerin in soaps. Since the toy sits on your clitoris it can cause irritation, and that would kill you buzz. You can also use Isopropyl Alcohol, but over time I would imagine it would weaken or dry out the head.

I store mine in my top dresser drawer, as I have said before this is so great because it can pass off as an everyday item millions of people own. No big deal. I don't tend to use lube with it, but if you have some on you or want to plastic can be used with water, oil, or silicone lube.

Packaging

The Hitachi comes in a basic box that most massagers come in. Very buyer friendly. You can store your toy in there and it would not give away what you use it for. I rated the box as "family friendly", meaning my kids would have no way of knowing this was a sexual toy if they came across it.

No, I don't like it, I love this thing. Of all my toys if it is one of those hurry up and orgasm moments, well the Hitachi will get me there FAST. I used it during sex with my partner and wow, the sensations rocked him as well. So this is not just a toy for the women, we need to be creative and not be selfish with this massager. Oh, and it gives on hell of a back massage according to my husband.

Great review. Glad you enjoyed the Hitachi... they really are as good as everyone claims they are, aren't they? We've had ours for several years now, and my wife's experiences with it are very similar to yours... even now, sometimes the low setting on the Hitachi is too much for her to start with. But, once she's had a couple minutes to warm up with foreplay/a lesser vibe/etc... she raring to go with the Hitachi. Yes, it's fairly large, but we've found that for couple's play, if you want to use the toy, it's still pretty easy to use the wand during penetration, for some really nice orgasms. Ours has held up great, and shows no signs of wear or failure yet, and even after all this time, she has no desensitization issues either (but in all fairness, she doesn't use it everyday.. maybe once every week or two).

Hope you enjoy yours as much as we do, for years to cum... er... come!

I still can't do high very well. I am a bit more accustomed to low, and I love it. If you want to prolong the orgasms, this won't allow it. Fun for torturous orgasm denial though Winking

      We are going on 3+ years on the acuvibe. The shell is starting to crack but it still functions great, I just wanted to know if we should switch when I do want to buy a new one. More powerful sounds good :)

      U had the flexi anal rod prior to the Hitachi..It is strong as well, and it probably right between the hitachi hi and low... I actually prefer the two setting on Hitach..SHIT and OHH SHIT.. The flexi rod has about 4 if i'm not mistaken..Plus it is flexible as well.. Costs about 25.00

      Its on a review of mine already..
