Use

Dona body wash is a nice daily cleanser for those who are looking for something with natural ingredients and who don't want an overpowering scent. Because of its attractive packaging, this product would also make a nice gift in combination with other Dona products, such as the lotion or some of the bath additives.

The ingredients in this product taken from the bottle (which differ slightly from what's listed on the product description) are:

Purified Water (Aqua), Sodium C 14-16 Olefin Sulfonate, Sodium Cocoamphoacetate, Cocamidopropyl Hydroxysultaine, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Glycerin*, Saccharide Isomerate, Sodium Chloride, Lycium Barbarum (Goji) berry, Coffea Arabica (Coffee) Seed, Euterpe Oleracea (Açaí) Fruit, Morinda Citrifolia (Noni) Fruit, Punica Granatum (Pomegranate) Fruit, Camellia Sinensis (Green Tea) Leaf, Garcinia Mangostana (Mangosteen) Pericarp Extracts, Propanediol, Xanthan Gum, Citric Acid, Guar Gum, Benzyl Alcohol, Methylchloroisothiazolinone, Methylisothiazone, Disodium EDTA, Fragrance

* Because this is cruelty free, this would be vegetable glycerin, which does not have the same precautions as animal-sourced glycerin.

Texture / Consistency / Thickness / Viscosity

The texture of this is similar to most body washes. It is a thin gel, and it feels neither sticky nor greasy. It pumps out of its container easily in small squirts, so several pumps are needed to cover each area of the body.

Taste / Aroma

I chose the blue lotus scent for this body wash. I am not sure what blue lotus generally smells like, but the smell of this was very fresh and reminded me of cucumbers right from the garden. It sounds a little odd, but it is a very pleasing scent. Unfortunately, once the body wash is rinsed off, I was no longer able to detect the scent on my skin at all. As this is not edible, I did not sample the flavor and suggest you don't either.
    • Light smell
    • Smells good

Performance

My skin did feel cleaner after using this product, though I felt it was nothing to write home about. It doesn't lather up very well at all, though I have pretty hard water, so your mileage may vary.

Lather

As previously mentioned, the scent fades once you rinse it off. This claims to have exfoliating properties, which I assume come from the the citric acid, which is an alpha hydroxy acid. Alpha hydroxy acids are used in chemical peels and other spa treatments, though because citric acid is so far down on the ingredient list for this product, I assume the effects are minimal. I have not noticed any discernible change after using this product for over a week, though this product may cause dryness or irritation for some.
    • Absorbs into skin nicely

Packaging

This body wash comes in a very nice looking clear pump bottle with a purple and black lace print label. The bottle is made of #1 recyclable plastic, which can be handled by most recycling facilities. The bottle does say "an aphrodisiac infused ritual" across the top, so it is not totally discreet. The product dispenses easily, and I have not experienced any leaking thus far. Still, this bottle should be stored upright. Instructions are printed in English, French, Spanish, and German.

Special Features

This body wash claims to have aphrodisiac properties. As with my other Dona products, I have not noticed anything to that effect. Nonetheless, it is a nice smelling product that is enjoyable to use. This product is also paraben-free and cruelty-free.

Follow-up commentary
While I love the smell of this product, I don't use it very often because it's not very moisturizing. I find that I reach for this occasionally, but usually I need something more nourishing for my skin.
