Hitachi magic wand vibrator by Hitachi - review by ToyLady

A few years ago, I had heard that this was the best vibrator a person could get. At the time, I was relatively new to using sex toys and was a little embarrassed about someone possibly finding anything that I purchased and knowing that I had sex toys (READ: I have a nosy mother-in-law that would go through my drawers). Since this could technically be passed off as a legitimate back or shoulder massager, it eased my fear of being "found out".

This vibrator is quite large and is obviously not meant for insertion. It has a long plastic wand and the end of it is made of a hard plastic/foam material. The weird thing about the end part is that the material seems to be porous and collect dirt. This sounds gross, but over time, the end of it will start to look a little bit discolored just from collecting dirt, etc.

This vibrator does not use batteries and is instead plugged in to a wall outlet. I'm not sure how I feel about this. I feel a little bit strange, almost like I am traveling back in time, using a vibrator that plugs into the wall. This also really limits where you can use it, since the cord is relatively short and you have to be near a wall outlet. However, it does alleviate the cost of having to constantly replace batteries.

The Magic Wand has two speeds - high and higher! The vibrations are extremely intense. I thought that this alone meant that it would get me off in record time. However, it did not quite work out that way. The end of the Magic Wand is relatively large, so it is hard to just pinpoint the clitoris. It also delivers a relatively deep vibration that doesn't quite do for me what other clitoral vibrators that have a more surface vibration do. Also, whenever I feel like I might be starting to get close to orgasm, I start to feel numb from the strength of the vibration, which is a frustrating experience. I have had orgasms with the Magic Wand, but it wasn't the over-the-top type of orgasm that I was expecting from the research I did at the time.

One thing that might make it better is to try one of the attachments made specifically for the Magic Wand. I have never used any of these because I have been concerned that they would be as much of a let-down as the device itself was for me. Maybe I am missing out and the attachments would make a huge difference.
