Turned Me Into a Fan of Conditioner

I am not a fan of conditioners. Honestly, I use them only when needed which is one a week at most. But this conditioner is one of the best I've ever found and that makes it worth the higher price tag. a little goes a long way, so it should last you a decent amount of time too. I've had a chance to try a few products from this company. This is my favorite so far.

extremely useful review
Having received this in a kit and not liking the other two items nearly as much as this one, I felt it deserved its own 5 star review. I can also go into more detail here. If I had done that for the set, my review would be super long.

I should start off by saying that I am NOT a fan of conditioner. I feel like the majority of conditioners make my hair feel oily or waxy. I'm kind of anal about my hair, so I rarely condition it because of how it feels. I usually buy an expensive conditioner (think like Nexxus, for example), and I take about a year or so to use the whole bottle. I'll be conditioning a lot more now that I've found Treme Tresses Conditioner! I don't know if I can completely justify its high price, but it certainly feels luxurious. The ultra feminine smelling conditioner might bother some, it's not even my forte, but I can easily over look it because of results. It's an ultra-hydrating conditioner that moisturizes and tames without weighing the hair down. It will soften and add shine to the hair without making it look or feel greasy or oily, like many other conditioners I have tried. Like the package says, "Your hair will thank you!"

Ingredients: Aqua, Behentrimonium Chloride, Cetyl Alcohol, Cetyl Esters, Polyquaternium-55 Streayl Alcohol, Glycerin, Cyclomethicone, parfum, Sunflower (Helianthus Annuss) Oil, Shea Butter (Butyrospermum Parkii), Coconut (Cocos Nucifera) Oil, Polyquaternium-70, Dipropylene glycol, Amodimethicone, Trideceth-10 Cetrimonium Chloride, Hydrolyzed Oat Protein, Pomegranate (Punica Granatum) Extract, Grape (Vitis Vinifera) Seed Extract, White Pine Bark (Pinus Strobus) Extract, Green Tea (Camellia Sinensis) Leaf Extract, Ginseng (Panax Ginseng) Extract, Camomilla Recutita (Matricaria) Flower Extract, Algae Extract, Bearberry (Arctostaphylos Uva Ursi) Extract, Coneflower (Echinacea Angustifolia) Extract, Licorice (Glycyrrhiza Glabra) Root Extract, Phenoxyethanol Methylchlroisothiazolinone, Methylisothiazolinone, Citric Acid.

That's a ton of ingredients! The short version on safety is that it contains no phthalates, sulfates, triclosans, or parabens. There are plenty of natural ingredients in there that are extremely hydrating like grape seed oil and algae extract. The quality really shows in this list of ingredients.

-Behentrimonium Chloride: an anti-static agent
-Cetyl Alcohol: Organic alcohol that can come from animals or plants (I'm hoping they used it from plants since it comes from whales and dolphins otherwise)
-Cetyl Esters: Plant version of Spermacetti Wax which comes from whales, it is a thickener. I was pleased to see this because that likely means the alcohol also came from plants
-Cyclomethicone and Amodimethicone: silicone oil, provides silky feeling
-Sunflower Oil, Grape Seed, White Pine Bark, Green Tea Leaf, Coneflower Extract & Shea Butter: Natural conditioning agent
-Coconut Oil & Gydrolyzed Oat Protein: Natural hydrater
-Dipropylene glycol: Solvent of oils
-Pomegranate exstract: Toning astringent
-Ginseng (Panax Ginseng) Extract: Promotes hair growth
-Camomilla Recutita Flower Extract: A rinse for blonde hair
-Algae Extract: Fights hair loss
-Bearberry Extract: Antioxidant
-Licorice Root Extract: SHOULD BE AVOIDED IF YOU ARE PREGNANT! Prevents hair loss

Texture / Consistency / Thickness / Viscosity:

The conditioner is very thick, much thicker than leading conditioners from Dove, Pantene, etc. I would compare it to Redken - maybe a little thicker. If you spread it around in your hands like a lotion it has a slight waxy feeling after it is spread around, but then it becomes very light and silky on the skin. It's easy to feel the great ingredients and high quality. It spreads easily in the hair and its effect is immediate.

Taste / Aroma:

Scented with one of their signature fragrances, Isolina (little island in Italian), is described on their website as having top notes of "violet leaves and mimosa blended with middle notes of rose petals and neroli. Heliotrope and precious woods round out this ultra feminine elixir that is best described as pureness in a bottle." It is a very feminine scent that has a lot of floral undertones and also sort of smells of baby powder. It's not my something I'd ever pick out on my own, but the scent will smell different on everyone. I absolutely love how this smells on my hair. It doesn't smell at all like it is in the bottle after my hair has dried. But from the bottle, this scent can be too flowery and feminine to me.
Experience
Company/Packaging:

Principessa Beauty Inc. has a simple philosophy of Perfume, Packaging, and Performance. They are dedicated to using the most natural materials possible. They are proudly paraben, petroleum, cruelty, and phthalate free, and pH balanced.

I am very impressed with this company's packaging. They have a commitment to the environment (every manufacture should feel they do!) and its sustainability. Their packaging is reusable and/or recyclable, and 100% biodegradable! They also have a zero carbon footprint!

The conditioner comes in a baby pink plastic bottle with a matte white label in the front. It's feminine, dainty, and adorable. The bottle contains 12 fluid ounces (355 ml) which is small for the price, smaller than most typical conditioner bottles. At $2.16 per ounce this is very expensive, but I really think it is worth it, at least for me. The back of the bottle has the description, instructions, and ingredients in black lettering. The top is a simple push down to open one.

The company explains their use of the pink coloring. They say pink is chosen because of its emotional character and representation of caring and sharing. They believe that affectionate and loving people prefer pink, being the most romantic color.

Experience:

This stuff goes a long way! I have very long hair, over two feet long, that goes well down my back. It's also very thick, usually taking a whole day to dry completely. Because of this, I often have to use a lot of shampoo and even more conditioner. But with this conditioner I don't have to use nearly as much. I have to use about a quarter size amount, which is far less than my normal. For those with thinner or shorter hair, you'll have to use less of course.

I used the Terme Tresses Shampoo first. As I slathered my wet hair with the conditioner, I could instantly feel how lovely it is. It really grabs onto your hair and immediately feels like it starts to repair and envelop the hair. It is very easy to smooth around. The directions say to let it sit for 1-5 minutes without rinsing it out. I never leave conditioner in for very long. I wait a minute at most then rinse thoroughly.

After my hair finally dries, my hair feels strong, still full of volume, and not weighed down. It also feels silky and soft, but not greasy or oily. A true test of a good conditioner for me is if it doesn't cause me to have to shower my hair sooner than normal (when I don't use conditioner). It takes a long time for my hair to look oily on its own. Because it takes so long to dry (I only use them when absolutely necessary - heat and over use ruins and dries out your hair), I usually shower once every 36 hours unless the day has been physical or I have a get together. This conditioner does not cause me to have to take a shower much sooner than normal. I only do so because I feel my hair doesn't retain the same volume after a while - but it still does not look or feel oily. Some conditioners cause hair to look dirtier or actually get dirtier much quicker. This doesn't. I am very pleased!
Follow-up commentary
I only use this conditioner about twice a week, but I can really see a difference in the strength of my hair. I feel like I have less break aways occurring and my hair has a healthy look and bounce to it. I am still unsure how often I will buy this conditioner, but if you have the money, it is totally worth buying.
