Wash me senseless!

The Dona body wash is.. okay. There is better out there and for a better value. If you happen to love the line, then the body wash will also please you. If you want a better bang for your buck, look elsewhere.

Use

Dona Body Wash is another in the line of bath and beauty products by the company JO. The body wash is advertised to have aphrodisiac qualities. There are some ingredients in the body wash that have been likend to other aphrodisiacs, but there is no concrete, scientific evidence that the ingredients really work. Still, the placebo effect can do wonders. Also, rubbing some of this body wash on your lover could also increase the chance of romantic time occurring.

The body wash is standard in terms of what it does. It will leave you feeling clean and it will leave a scent on your skin when your done. Depending on how much scent you want, you may or may not use other Dona products in conjunction. For example, you might prefer a more subtle scent and feel the body wash in enough. On the other hand, if you like stronger scents you might use the body wash and then use the Dona lotion after you dry off for more scent.

In terms of allergies: the ingredients used in this body wash are not unlike what you would find in most body care products save for some of the aphrodisiac ingredients. If you are sensitive, you can always to a skin test. Do this by washing an innocuous part of your body, like a small section on top of your hand or the forearm. Monitor the skin for one to two days. If you do not notice any maladies, you should be good to go. Sensitive users should be okay using this product. As with similar products, it's best not to get it on open wounds as it could sting.

Overall, this is a worthy body wash if you're gifting someone it as part of a set or want to treat yourself with something different. This is body wash only and is not edible. Do not use this for any internal activity or aid for penetration.

Texture / Consistency / Thickness / Viscosity

The consistency of the body wash is like any other soap. It has a texture similar to handsoaps and body washes. It is not too thin. It won't run off your hand if it is dry, but it can if your hand is already wet and you don't rub the wash on you or a rag. To prevent losing product, it's best to put the body wash on a loofa or washcloth. The overall physical properties of this body wash are consistent with the generic body wash. The pomegranate has a light rosy tine to it. It is still a transparent liquid.

Water rinses off the wash and will leave no feeling of residue.

Taste / Aroma

The body wash is not made for consumption, but it does have a scent. The scent is not what I would expect of something labeled pomegranate. It has a floral note to it. If you prefer fresh or fruity scents then this one might be a bit heavy for you. The Mangosteen is a fresher scent to use. The floral note makes it feel like a more mature scent and less free and fun (if that makes any sense). However, people have different receptors in their nose. This means everyone smells the world a little differently, so everyone has different preferences and this scent might be great for you. Then there's also how something smells on your skin compared to how it smells in the bottle, etc.

The smell is on the strong side. If you use this as your only body cleanser, you will be left with the scent on your skin. Be mindful of that if you like to use other scented products like perfumes and lotions.

Performance

There are better body washes out there with more product for less cash. The body wash does not have any negative qualities. Independent of how you feel about the scent, the wash does clean well and leaves a nice scent for a bit. After you rinse with water there is no residue or "icky" feeling.

You can use the body wash as an impromptu bubble bath if you want some bubbles. It works okay for that. In terms of construction, the push down nozzle works okay for what it needs to do. If any body wash gets over the bottle you can rinse it under the shower.

Packaging

All liquid products you get from Eden (lubricants, lotions, body washes, etc.) come wrapped in plastic. This is to prevent the products from leaking onto anything else you might have ordered. Open the plastic and you'll see this:

The bottle is pretty small given it costs over 10 dollars. You can get a bigger bottle of body wash for 2 dollars. It's best to store the bottle upright since it is possible it can leak.

Experience

I look between these recent Dona reviews and my older ones. I may have detected some bias based on scent. Now, it could be because I really enjoyed the Mangosteen so I gave it high reviews. Conversely, I could have given my Pomegranate items a lower review because I didn't like the scent. However, the Mangosteen scent is accurate in its advertising. The scent is accurate to the label. I feel that this isn't the case for the Pomegranate. It smells too floral for a fruit. It feels old, not sexy to me. Again, this can all be personal preference.

I do realize that the more I smell the product, the less I dislike it (there's whole bunch of science on that phenomenon that says that frequency of a stimuli will make someone less sensitive to it or even make someone like it). My partner didn't care for the scent either. I tend to be selective with what scents I use. I tend to go with citrus scents and mangos which are fruity and fresh. When I had this pomegranate scent on me and crawled into bed my partner woke up and thought someone else was in bed with him. He said it was because I didn't smell like me. I don't know how deep of a sleep he was in, but he was relying on his scent when he jumped up. Because of this and the fact I'm not particularly fond of the scent, I'll probably give it away.

I like the stuff. I often shop at Bath and Body Works, so the price doesn't bother me much.
