What a Treasure it is!!!

These salts are not only packaged beautifully, but they smell great too. They make the water a beautiful blue color, with a light layer of bubbles. They also leave the scent of the salts on your skin, and soften the skin very nicely. All in all, it is a great product that is definitely worth the purchase.

Use

The Treasure of the Sea Luxury Bathing Kit by Kama Sutra is a great way to relax. If you like baths as much as I do, you will love this. These salts smell great and make your bath look extremely inviting. As soon as I got these salts in the mail I ran into the bathroom and started to run my bath water; what a pleasant experience it was. It made nice silky water, blue in color, and nice bubbles, but we'll get into that more in depth later in the review.

Personally, I didn't get any infections or irritations from this, and I am pretty sensitive to bath stuff. Here is the ingredient list for those of you who are concerned about possible allergies:

Sodium sulfate, Sodium sesquicarbonate, Sodium thiosulfate, Sodium dodecyl benzenesulfonate, Magnesium sulfate, Sodium lauryl sulfoacetate, Hydrated silica, Sodium C14-16 Olefin sulfonate, Fragrance, Wheat Germ Oil, Algae, Geraniol, Butylphenyl Methylpropional, Linalool, Benzyl Benzoate.

In other words, it contains ALOT of salt, some algae, color, and fragrance. I personally hate ingredient lists like this, English please!

Texture / Consistency / Thickness / Viscosity

The Treasure of the Sea bath salts are very fine in consistency. They look just like sand, except they are blue in color. Throughout the salts, there are bigger chunks of white salt that are semi-transparent. They come with a white seashell to scoop the salts out of the container. Not only is this cute and clever, but it works. These salts dissolve really well under hot running water. I haven't had any issues with gritty feeling on the bottom of my tub at all. I have had other salts before and always had some grittiness on the bottom of the tub, so these are really great.

Taste / Aroma

As soon as I twisted the cap off the container I was taken away to an island somewhere. It smells great, not like on ocean at all like the name suggests, but really nice. It smells very clean; just like a spa, that's really the only way I can describe it. It does smell pretty strong out if its container, but once it is put into the bath water, it's very relaxing and light.

Performance

The Treasure of the Sea bath salts are a great way to relax in a nice hot bath. Once the salts are put into hot running water, they turn your bathtub into a blue ocean oasis. The water is very silky, smells divine, and relaxes your muscles and stimulates your senses after a long day. These salts turn your bath a very pretty blue color and leave a light bubble layer on top of the water, which is extremely relaxing for me. These salts dissolve really well in the water and do not leave any grittiness in the tub at all. The sea shell scoop is a neat little touch and really finishes off the whole "ocean" theme.

The smell lasts a long time in the bath. The smell is not heavy at all and lasts the duration of my bath which is about 30 minutes. The color doesn't fade at all either. When I get out of the tub it's just as blue as it was when I started the bath. The salts leave your skin very soft and smelling great. All in all the product performs really well. Not only does it make your bath very luxurious, but it also softens your skin and leaves a light scent from your bath on your skin.

Packaging

These salts come in a plastic 24.6 ounce twist top container. The label is a pretty blue with an ocean background with mermaids holding seaweed and swimming with fish. It is very pretty and the packaging goes with the whole ocean theme of this product. The cap is black, twists off, and on top of the cap is says Kama Sutra Treasure of the Sea Luxury Bathing Kit. There is a white seashell that is used to scoop out the salts inside, a very nice touch. It is packaged really nicely and was done very tastefully in my opinion. On the back of the container, the label says (in four different languages including English):

"Transform a simple bath into an ocean of azure blue with this extraordinary blend of nature's own sea salts, seaweeds and organic moisturizers. Includes a natural seashell scoop, a clean, fresh scent, and everything you need to turn your bathtub into an ocean of delight."
    • Would make a nice gift
Follow-up commentary
I LOVE this stuff! Still works well for me and smells just as good as it did the first time I used it. The only thing I don't like is that I don't have much left and will be reordering soon. So I guess you could say that I hate NOTHING about these bath salts.

  • KamaSutra's Treasure of the Sea ingredients?
    • I was looking at the Treasure of the Sea today and I can't find the ingredients on the product page. The whole page is just blank. I tried looking the ingredients up on Kama Sutra's page but I didn't find them there either. Can someone tell me the ingredients if you have this? I mainly just want to know if there is glycerin in this. I was going to buy the similar Shunga bath salts but those have glycerin so I can't use those. Thanks for any help you can give me!

I don't have them personally and couldn't find the ingredients listed on any online retailer but I did find an online blog review of them that lists ingredients - whether or not you choose to trust this blogger to have included everything is your call, but it looks like what the formulation would probably be to me.
