Gold dust - powder discontinued by Kingman - review by SimpleHedonist

I usually purchase rather expensive and name brand cosmetics, but after running across this shimmer powder and reading all of the rave reviews, I decided to give it a try. Om my, am I glad I did!

Let me start with the ingredients:

Talc, Mica/Titanium Dioxide and/or Mica Iron Oxide, Corn Starch, Honey Extracts, and Fragrance.

Only 5 ingredients in a cosmetic product? Now, that I love! As far as using this product, it has far more uses than it does ingredients!

It is a very fine powder, very much like a mineral type foundation or powder. It has a beautiful gold shimmer to it, but is not glittery! Think sun-kissed goddess, rather than stripper glitter.

I have mixed this powder with several of my mineral based cosmetics to add more shine and shimmer. It works perfect to add a sun kissed look to my normal mineral foundation. It also adds lots of shimmer to mineral eye shadows and blushes.

Used by itself, it works to add lots of beautiful shimmer and shine to any part of your body. I frequently use it on my neck, shoulders, cleavage, and even on my legs. On special occasions, I have also used this in my hair to give it an extra special shimmer.

As I said above, this powder is very fine. It has an extremely silky texture, and when applied, you can hardly tell it is there aside from the beautiful shimmer and shine of your skin. Despite the fact that it is super sheer and light, it really stays in place well! I can apply this powder on my face or body in the morning, and still see the shimmery shine at dinner time.

It will rub off on clothing, but does not leave a stain or even much of a mark on most fabric. If it does leave a mark, it easily washes off with regular laundering or even just a quick brush with a damp washcloth.

My skin feels wonderful while wearing this, and also after I wash it off!

In the ingredients above, you will notice that this product contains honey and cornstarch. To me, that is exactly what it smelled like. It has a very subtle, and barely there, scent of sweet honey and bread or biscuits. My husband does not smell this at all, in fact, he says it smells like "nothing", but to my sensitive nose it smells delightful.

I have not tasted this product, as it contains talc, and that is not something I would purposely put in my mouth. My husband has kissed and licked areas of my body where this powder has been applied and stated there was no taste. I would imagine as thin and sheer as this powder goes on, that there simply is not enough of it in any one place to taste.

I must say, I have never been so impressed with a no-name, low price, cosmetic product as I am with this shimmer powder!

It lasts and lasts, can be used in so many ways on so many parts of the body, has an impressively short ingredient list, and most importantly, makes me feel beautiful and sexy every time I put it on!

This powder washes off easily with soap and water, or normal bathing. It does not stain fabrics or clothing, and is easy to wash off fabric should you transfer any.

The only thing negative I can say about this powder is that the puff that comes with it does not enable you to use it to its fullest. The puff just sort of globs it on, wasting large amounts of powder. I apply this powder with a small kabuki or other cosmetic brush, and it goes on much better. That said, the puff that comes with it is a cute animal print design, and not badly made, so I simply took it out of the powder, cleaned it up, and use it for other cosmetic products that it is more suited to.
