For Root Beer Lovers Everywhere

This lube smells great and has a very high 'cool factor', but is probably not the best lube for most situations. If you are looking for a flavored lube to have some fun with, or to use for enhancing blowjobs, this could be a good lube to try out. Otherwise, you should probably skip this one and look for something else.

Pros:
It smells like delicious root beer barrel candy, it can be a fun change from your usual lube.

Use

I was at the office one day and I read a review of Fizz Lube, within a few minutes I had put in an order and someone from the warehouse brought out a small bottle of Root Beer flavored Fizz Lubricant, and set it on my table. I was so excited! Root Beer flavored lube, was at that moment, the coolest invention known to mankind!

Now when it comes down to usage, this lube has quite a number of drawbacks that were not obvious to me until my wife took one look at the lube, and burst my little bubble of optimism for this being the greatest creation of all time.

This lube contains glycerin and some other materials that make it unfriendly for vaginal use, especially for women who are prone to yeast infections. Basically, this lube is too runny to be considered a good fit for anal use. As this lube dries out it leaves a very sticky sludge on your skin, so I would not recommend using this unless you plan on hopping in the shower afterword for cleanup.

This lube is however suitable for blowjobs, handjobs, and for use with any male masturbation device that can cleaned with soap and water. I wouldn't use this with a Fleshlight since you can only clean those with water.

Texture / Consistency / Thickness / Viscosity

This lube is pretty thin, and it pours very quickly. It acts more like a silicone-based lube at first, I suspect this is from the all sugar-like artificial sweetener type ingredients it contains. It spreads pretty very fast, and if you use too much it will keep spreading out until it begins to dry out. It feels good when using it, but it will probably began to dry out on you during use and need re-activated; unless of course you are using this for oral sex. Once it begins to dry out, it does get really sticky.

Taste / Aroma

This lube smells exactly like root beer barrels! Root beer (the soda) & root beer barrels both kick much ass, so this is awesome! The taste... is ok I guess. It's not bad, it's just a a little strange with a some what medicinal after taste. It does have a root beer-ish flavor, but this is only really noticeable in the after taste as well. The lube does taste better than a regular unflavored lube, but it does not taste like anything you would choose to ingest... not like a yummy root beer barrel.

Performance

This lube lasts longer than a lot of other plain water-based lubes that I've tried before. I am assuming this has to do with some of the flavoring and artificial sweeteners this lube contains. However, as it does dry it out, it gets really thick and sticky. Clean up is really easy with soap and water; but you are probably going to have to grab a quick shower after using this lube, unless you don't mind being a little sticky. It spreads out, and even a little bit is gonna feel really sticky once you are done.

Packaging

Fizz lube comes in cute little 5 ounce plastic bottles, that are labeled to look like tiny bottles of soda. Even the lid kind of looks like an old school bottle cap.

Special Features

What this lube lacks in certain areas, it makes up for in sheer root beer power... unless of course you do not like root beer. It also claims to have a slight 'tingling' sensation. I didn't really notice any tingling during use, but there was a slight tingle on my tongue after tasting it.

This lube is sugar-free, water-based, l-arginine free, and latex friendly. It is not a brown root beer color like you would expect, it's actually clear. The ingredients listed are: water, glycerin, propylene glycol, flavor, sucralose, hydroxyethylcellulose, chlorhexidine gluconate, gluconolactone, methylparaben, sodium hydroxide.

Personal comments

I have joked about having a root beer lube taste contest during one of our parties or basement shows. I thought it would be funny to do this later in the evening after everyone was 'feeling no pain'. The taste test would include 3 shot glasses: one containing root beer extract, one containing root beer schnapps, and one containing root beer lube. I am sure that everyone would be able to identify which was which (hopefully), but I thought this just be hilarious to do - especially if we videotaped it.

Experience

Due to the chemistry limitations of this lube, I have not used it with my partner yet. So I used it for masturbation, and with the Flip Hole. I am not really a fan of using lube for masturbation, but for sake of testing the lube out I gave it a try. At first it did seem to act more like a silicone lube, and a little went a long way. But after a few minutes when it began to dry out (which is typical for water based lubes), and it gets really sticky. Adding a little bit more lube seemed to do the trick and it then lasted until the end.

I also tried using it with the Tenga Flip Hole. I pour a good bit inside the Flip Hole, applied a generous coating to myself, and then got down to business. It worked fine for use with this toy. During use the only real distinction between this and other lubes that I have used with the Flip Hole, seemed to be the pleasant scent of root beer. If you decide to use this lube with a toy, make sure it is a toy that it pretty easy to clean because it is going to end up very sticky afterward.

I have the lemon lime and it's really best suited for blowjobs. We rarely use it but it's fun when we do.

I'm pretty sure if I put that in the fridge at any sort of shin-dig someone would go in for a sip and be unpleasantly surprised! Great packaging, real shame it doesn't quite live up to that though, especially in the taste department as that's its main selling point. Thanks for the review!
