This toy was definitely designed
I am not as huge a fan of this item as most of the other
reviewers, but I still think it is a decent product. It is not incredibly numbing like many
oral sex aids, and hubby did not feel any extra stimulation from the lube itself; this led me to believe it was not really doing much. However, at the end of our session, he commented that I had become much better at
deep-throating! Since nothing else had really changed, this gel must have done SOMETHING to make my performance better!
Some property of the gel manages to dull the gag reflex without creating a numbing sensation like most products of the type. The product can be used in at least two different ways. The first is to just put a small dollop on the back of your tongue and let it run down your throat; this will serve to minimize your gag reflex. The other is to spread it on your partner’s member before fellatio. This also affects the gag reflex, but also adds some flavor to the blow-job experience, if that’s your thing (I prefer the natural flavor of my man). If you do choose this route, however, be warned and have a towel on hand—the product is very thick and sticky, and you will probably want to get it off your hand as soon as possible. (A baby-wipe would be even better, since the stickiness interrupted the moment briefly for us as it sent me running to the bathroom to wash my hand!)
I think my major problem with this product is the flavoring. Do not get me wrong—the gels are not horrible tasting or anything. I have just become spoiled by less sweet and synthetic-tasting products like those found in the Shunga and Kama Sutra lines. These taste ok, but they are quite sweet, and leave that slightly slippery synthetic coating sensation behind in the mouth. The flavors that come in the sample pack are Juicy Passion Fruit (sweet, subtle, and probably my favorite); Sweet Strawberry (overly sweet and cloying for my taste); Wild Cherry (also sweet, and fairly generic cherry flavor); Sexy Cinnamon (more effective for killing the gag reflex, pleasant tasting, but still rather sweet), and Mystical Mint (probably the best for killing the gag reflex, cooling on his member and your mouth, and less sweet than the others—tastes rather like mouthwash).
For the price, the
Good Head Gel variety pack is fun for playing around, and it does work to help enhance your oral performance on your man. I do not think the quality of the flavors is quite up there with some of the more expensive lines (I know, I am a snob!), but it is definitely a decent product!
I'm really not sure how this gel does it, but it manages to kill the gag reflex without numbing the penis. And it tastes pretty good, if a bit sweet. For those of you practicing your
deep-throating skills, but not wanting to use a harsh numbing agent, I definitely recommend this product!
Also, with deepthroating- the more you do it, the better you get at it. It's another instance of being able to train your muscles (as with fisting, kegels, etc.), so practice makes perfect!
I suppose a little lube doesn't hurt though...
Oh, I'm 36--I've been practicing my ass (or throat?) off for many years now. *I* didn't notice any difference really when I used this, but my husband did, and that's what ultimately matters. Thanks for your input!
