Use

If anyone knew Liv was in your drawer, they'd be green with envy.

Liv is a slim, sleek, stylish, powerful vibrator that can be used anytime, anywhere (almost) and by anyone. She's geared for clitoral stimulation and driving your g-spot crazy. In addition to your typical low to high intensity, Liv also pulses, throbs, tickles and escalates "you into a wild frenzy."

A unique feature, like many Lelo toys, is that Liv is rechargeable. No wires; no replacing batteries. The only place you can't take Liv is into the the shower/tub.

Material / Texture

Liv is sleek, smooth and silky -- almost like skin-on-skin. Because she's made of silicone, Liv is 100% safe. If you happen to get really wet like I do, a lubricant isn't needed. If need assistance, stick with water-based lubes.

Her base is a hard white plastic with a 4 way directional disc for the control. A shiny silver band separates the base from the green silicone. Liv is definitely more solid and firm than flexible, but that's what makes her special.

Design / Shape / Size

Liv is the perfect hand-held vibrator. She's slim, smooth, sleek and has a wonderful curved tip that pleases both inside and out. She's a slim 1 1/8" in diameter and approximately 1 lb. From tip to base, Liv is 7" tall, but only 4 1/2" of her is actually insertable.

One downside to the design is the location of the controls. It's very easy to be in the middle of things and bump the wrong button. Pending on where you're at, it could a little frustrating.

Liv was definitely made for a lady's hand -- the base is small, yet manageable.

Functions / Performance / Controls

Liv is a surprisingly powerful little vibrator. On a scale of 1-5, she's a solid 4.5. Better yet, she's quiet as a mouse. The only thing your roommate or overnight guests will hear are your moans of pleasure.

The light up 4-way directional control (power button) lets you know when it's on or locked. The controls are quite easy... left and right control the intensity, while up and down/top and bottom control the various patterns (slow pulse, heavy throbbing, escalating, and traditional vibrating).

There's a unique feature that allows you to lock the vibrator so she can't turn on when you're not ready. To lock, hold the power button for 5 seconds and she'll light up. She's locked and will wait patiently until you're ready for the next round.

Another plus of Liv is it's re-chargeable AND it holds a long charge. We've been playing with her for over a month and she's still on the initial charge! It takes a couple of hours to charge, but if you plug it in before you leave for work Liv will be ready to go when you get home.

My only other complaint about the design is that it could use one more level of intensity.

Care and Maintenance

Even though you can't take Liv into the shower/tub (she's not waterproof), she cleans up easily with a little soap and warm water. Just be careful to keep the rubber piece over the charge port (so it stays dry).

If you need a lube, stick with water-based as Liv is made of silicone.

Packaging

My husband and I both come from creative/marketing backgrounds, and to say we were impressed with Liv's packaging would be an understatement.

A beautiful black box wrapped in bright, lime green with LELO in silver make me feel like a little kid on Christmas morning. Inside Liv is nestled in molded plastic, just waiting to be used. While the box and plastic molding is great for the initial presentation (definitely gift worthy), it's not practical for day-to-day storage. But not to worry, Lelo provides a nice silk bag for storing in a drawer, purse or suitcase.

Personal comments

I really don't know what else to say, other than I love my Liv. Used alone or with my hubby, I'm in heaven. I've had a couple of vibrators before this (pocket rocket and a girthy purple people eater), but nothing that makes me smile every time I see it (or use it).

It definitely costs a little more than most, but I promise she's worth every penny.
Follow-up commentary
A year later, I'm still green with envy. Liv is still my go-to vibe for virtually everything. The rechargeable batteries are still going strong and hold a charge for many uses.

While I do wish it had just a slight bit more oomph, I really can't complain. One way or the other, Liv manages to satisfy me every time!

Lelo definitely has the color aspect mastered. So much more fun than a lot of the "fleshy" colors.

The rechargeable feature is so nice! We don't miss scrambling for batteries, like we used to with non-rechargeable models!

    • Looking at the new Lime Green color of LELO's Liv, I'm very close to buying it, just because it's such a kick ass color. Anybody else have a soft spot for nicely colored toys?

      Gigi will be my next purchase, and I think the dusty rose actually looks really pretty, but now there's bright blue...lol, I'm torn.
    • Blue, green, and orange are my favorites. I prefer the "non-natural" coloring :-). Even if it's shaped like a real penis, it should be day-glo purple or somesuch :-)
    • I'm that way too. I like non-natural colors for toys. That is a kick ass color, that green. The pink Gigi does look pretty, but I also like how bright the turquoise is too! My next big buy will probably be a Gigi too, it just sounds so amazing. :)

I flipped back and saw that they are the same price, same company and only slightly different design. Does anyone actually have both? The Liv has been my all time favorite vibrator for a long time.
    • I actually have the Liv (though I haven't written up a review yet), the Iris, and the Elise. Honestly, and I hate to say it, but the Liv is probably my least favorite of the bunch. It's still an excellent vibe, but it's missing the delicious texturing of the Iris and the g-spot magic of the Gigi. If you like Lelo's products, I'd say the Gigi is definitely worth checking out!
