Use

The Liv is a pretty standard vibrator. It can be used for clitoral stimulation, either solo or with a partner. It can be used for internal vaginal stimulation, and has a nice curve for G-spot play. It can also be used for external anal stimulation. Also, I consider it a decent vibrator for stimulating other erogenous zones, like nipple, testicles or the shaft of a penis.

It's light and easy to hold, and feels nice and comfortable in your hand whether you are using it on yourself or someone else.

The Liv is the same as the Billy, with the exception of a small round extension around the shaft where the silicone meets the base. That extended portion is what makes the Billy safe for anal play, while it's not recommended that you use the Liv anally. If you are careful, or add one of the add-on flared rings, you could use the Liv in the same way. As always, exercise extreme caution.

Material / Texture

The handle of the Liv is white hard plastic, and the insertable portion is hard plastic coated in silicone. Hard plastic rates an 8 on the Eden Safety Scale and Silicone rates a 10. Both materials are non-porous.

The hard plastic is smooth and slick, with no drag. It has no bend or flex. The silicone portion of the toy has a lovely, rich velvety feel with a small amount of drag. Because it is a silicone shell over hard plastic, the insertable end is rigid as well, with no bend or flex. The shaft of the insertable portion is smooth, with no bumps, ridges or veining. The Liv has no smell or taste.

The toy would be well suited to beginners. It is elegant and non-threatening in appearance, and would be a nice way to introduce toys into a relationship with someone who was reluctant to try them, assuming toys were all phallic, cheap and realistically colored.
    • No odor
    • Not porous at all
    • Rigid

Design / Shape / Size

Liv has an overall length of 7 inches, which an insertable length of 4 1/2 inches. Although it varies slightly over the shaft, the diameter is right around 1 1/8" It has a gradual curve, which is designed to follow the natural curve of your body, and provide G-spot stimulation.

The size is on the smaller side of average, but Liv is certainly large enough to get the job done. Anyone can use the Liv, no matter their experience level. You can angle the Liv to reach your G-spot, provided it's in the range that the toy can get to.

Although it's fairly obvious what the Liv is for, it doesn't scream "sex toy", and if it was left out it might not catch someone eye. That being said, it would be hard to claim it was something other than what it is.

Functions / Performance / Controls

The Liv has easy to use controls. There are 4 buttons: a plus, a minus, an up and a down. Using the up button switches you to the next variation of vibration, the down button switches you back through them in reverse. The plus and minus buttons allow you to change the intensity of each variation. Holding down the minus button decreases the intensity and eventually will turn the Liv off.

There are 5 variations to choose from:

1- Steady Vibrations
2- Low Pulse
3- Medium Pulse
4- Fast Pulse
5- Rollercoaster/Wave

While on any of those settings, you can increase or decrease the speed/intensity of the vibrations using the plus and minus, which allows you to really pinpoint what works for you. Even on its highest settings, the sound won't be heard through a closed door, but it can be heard through the covers. It isn't a waterproof toy, so don't submerge your Liv.

After only about 90 minutes, Liv was fully charged and ready. I was surprised by how quickly it charged, and how much battery life you get out of each charge. For me, Liv worked for over 2 hours on that charge, which is more than enough. How long it will last on each charge depends on which intensity level used. It is recommended that you charge the Liv at least monthly, for battery maintenance sake. The white light up circle on the control area blinks while it is plugged in and charging, and changes to a solid white light when it is fully charged. When the battery is nearly exhausted, the circle glows red to let you know you need to plug it back in to charge. The charger resembles a cell phone charger, and seems sturdy and made to last.
    • Discreet sound
    • Easy to use

Care and Maintenance

You cannot submerge the Liv for cleaning, as she is not waterproof. You can wipe it with a damp cloth, or rinse the silicone end under water. Be careful to avoid getting the button area or the charging port wet. As the Liv is silicone, you will want to avoid using any silicone lubes. Any water-based lube could be used with the Liv.

Packaging

The package for the Liv is quite elegant. It consist of an outer and inner box, with the toy nestled safely inside. The outer box is has a picture of the toy. The inner box is thicker black cardboard, with a lid that lifts off. There is a little compartment for the charger, which also holds a pouch, booklet and lube sample. The box is perfect for storing the Liv, and would be beautiful for gifting. It is very elegant and tasteful.

Experience

When I got the Liv, I already had the Mona and the Gigi, and it didn't blow me away. The Gigi rocks a G-spot like nobody's business, and the Mona is simply amazing. The Liv didn't top either one. If I had gotten the Liv first, the nice rumble and sleek silicone would have moved it up the charts and it probably would have become a favorite.

That being said, it certainly is a rock solid toy that is a great luxury toy to splurge on when you are tired of the buzzy bullets and traditional vibrators out there. I was very happy with the quality of the Liv, and can't complain about the power or the noise level. Yes, it's a bit on the short side, but I think it will be long enough to satisfy most people. I'm not usually a fan of toys with a smaller diameter, but the Liv rides that line. It isn't a super thin vibrator, and it isn't large. It's on the smaller side of average.

The Liv feels comfortable in your hand while you use it on someone else, with them lying on their back and you sitting between their legs. It works reasonably well as a vibrator to use during intercourse, with it held between you. When you use it solo, the handle feels just as comfortable while you hold it facing the other way, which is a plus.

Overall, I have no complaints, there are just toys that I like more.
Follow-up commentary
It's basic, yes, but it's reliable. One thing to mention, is that I have lost the small cover to the charging port. It didn't seem like it was attached well, and I figured it would get lost at some point. It doesn't truly affect use, as the Liv isn't waterproof. I just have to be more careful when I'm cleaning it.
