The Liv is marketed as a g-spot toy, but I freely admit that I bought it with the idea of using it as a clitoral vibe for lazier days where I just want to lie back and go with the flow. It is great for this use, and fits ergonomically in my hand without having to reach for my clit. It seems to be the perfect length for this.

I did try it as a g-spot toy, and was pleasantly surprised that it is excellent at it as well! The motor, while felt on the whole shaft, seems to have a concentrated spot midway down the shaft (on the inside curve) that vibrates right against the g-spot. Let me tell you, it's an amazing feeling!

It is also not very noisy, and would be suitable for situations where discretion is key; in a dorm, if you live with your parents, or if you have nosy kids.

Liv comes featuring Lelo's industry-famous silicone, which I have to say really lives up to its hype! It is smooth and yet soft, non-porous, completely attached to its underneath components, seamless, odorless, and even seems to not catch lint! I have the navy blue color and it's beautiful, not to mention very unique. This toy is rigid with absolutely no give.

Do remember that since this is a silicone toy, you must use water-based lube to prevent any degradation of the material...I use Sliquid Satin Natural Moisturizer, and every experience is wonderful.

The handle is white plastic, and the "silver" detail is also a coated plastic. It does not seem chintzy, though, and I do not expect the silver paint to chip or wear off. The charging port is covered with a matching white silicone plug.



Overall, this toy seems extremely well made, nothing about it is cheap (a relief based on the price paid!), and I expect it to last a long time. I would definitely recommend this to beginners, the silicone is safe and easy to care for, and the smooth texture is not too intense.

Liv measures about 7 inches long, and is 3 3/4 inches circumference at its widest insertable point. The insertable portion is about 4 inches long (the expanse of the silicone down to the silver ring). It has a beautiful, ergonomic curve with a tapered, rounded tip.

It is absolutely great for beginners since it is not too big, and not too long. The blunt tip makes it safe to thrust without worry, and because it is so gorgeous, it is not intimidating in any way. On the opposite side, I think more advanced sex-toy users may or may not like this depending on preference. Compared to many insertable toys, this is on the smaller end of the spectrum, but if you like a more moderate size sometimes, Liv is your girl. I think the classy and luxe design will appeal to beginners and advanced users alike.

The controls are located on the handle of the toy. I find the placement excellent; I have yet to accidentally change settings during play. Lelo uses a circular design for their control here, surrounded by a lighted circle that blinks briefly when pushing buttons, or during charging. Going clockwise, it features an "up", "+", "down", and "-", which I think anyone living in the 2000s could easily interpret intuitively. Pushing the "+" button both turns the toy on, and increases the vibration speed. The up and down will cycle through different patterns. I counted 9 steps of speed, and 5 patterns:

1) constant vibration
2) pulsing
3) faster pulsing
4) fastest pulsing
5) "rollercoaster"

Also I found it nice that if you held down a button, it would cycle through to the next speed or pattern quickly, eliminating the need to push the button over and over to get to the highest settings. I like this setup of buttons, and it seems quite easy for me to use even when I'm really into my session. Pressing the center of the control pad "locks" it so it cannot accidentally be pushed, and unlocks by pressing the center in the same way.

For me, the vibrations are wonderful and rumbly. never really understood what "rumbly" meant till I tried this toy, but the difference between this and my inexpensive bullet was pretty astonishing. I find that the "rumble" takes a bit longer for me to orgasm with, but this can be a good thing, because usually the orgasms are better and more intense. Here's the thing about Liv: it's not tremendously strong. By my standards, it is plenty strong, and enough to get me off, but it is definitely not the strongest toy in the market. The vibrations are felt all over the silicone shaft, but seem to have a special spot halfway down on the inside of the curve, designed to hit your g-spot. I found Liv very quiet, but not silent (and in all honesty, is there even such a thing as a silent vibe?). At its highest speed, you can hear it if you are holding it in your hand, but not once it goes under the covers. No way could anyone hear it through a closed door.

This vibrator is rechargeable, and all you have to do is pop the A/C adapter into your wall socket, and into the bottom end of the vibe, just like your cell phone or laptop. I love not needing to buy batteries for this toy! It seems to hold a charge for a while, and though I have never used it for over an hour, it has never lost its charge when I needed it. I pop it into the charger every few weeks so it's fully juiced, and this has worked wonderfully.

As much as it pains me to say this since I love Liv, power queens should probably pass this one by. I rate this at about 4 vrooms, which I think is enough to get most people off, but not all. he other feature it lacks that would make me caution potential buyers is that this is not waterproof, so do not take it into the aquatic arenas of your sex life! If waterproof is a must, Liv is not for you.

Liv is easy to care for, but not the easiest in my toy chest. Since it is not waterproof, be careful to not let water into the plastic handle or near the silver ring. I usually clean it with Eden Wipes, which are not wet so not a threat to the motor, and this is the easiest and quickest way to clean up. If it needs a better clean, I will run the silicone portion under a slow stream of water, and soap up with antibacterial soap, just being careful to avoid the silver ring.

I have the navy blue model, and I will say that this color shows all secretions and lube remnants, so I try to be careful to clean it immediately after use so it doesn't gross me out the next morning! This is not a downside, just something to be mindful of if you are a clean freak like myself.

I have been storing Liv and its charger cord in its lovely Lelo packaging, and I think it is extremely discreet when the box is closed. If you don't care for storing in the package, it would easily fit in a standard sized pouch or toy box, and fit into any bedside or dresser drawer.

I think Lelo's packaging is legendary around this site, and of course Liv keeps that tradition! There is a little covered box inside that holds the charger and instructions, and the company included a small sample package of their lube. Liv doesn't have all the bells and whistles, or mega-powered motor of some other vibes, but it has quickly become one of my favorite toys.
