  Curious to know while this is being used if there is enough clarity in the plug itself while inserted; or does the darker coloring obscure everything making it not so clear?.

  It's not a plug, but you can't really see clearly even through clear glass toys.

  It would probably work as good as any other clear toy would. Even with a flashlight you will only see some pink color. What you really need is a light inside, that would be a lot of fun.
