Breathable ball gag - headgear by Pipedream - review by SMichelle

At the time that I purchased this, I had no experience with gags. I thought this would be a great beginner gag - boy was I wrong! Now that I have some experience with this gag, and others, I feel that I'm comfortable in providing an assessment of this specific toy.

I would only recommend this gag for those with some experience, simply because there is absolutely no give to this gag.

The actual use of this toy is pretty obvious - it's a gag. People that like gags like them for a variety of different reasons; the humiliation factor, the control factor, as punishment, shutting up a willing submissive, the simple appearance, etc. All in all, this gag serves its purpose(s) well for those that it fits comfortably, at least. In regards to shutting up a submissive; as a submissive, I can scream loudly from behind this gag, but I cannot manage to say anything in an understandable manner.

If you're looking for a gag to use for long-term use, I would choose something made out silicone instead. The fact that there is no give on this ball makes it extremely uncomfortable to wear for an extended period of time.

Also, those of you who like drool? This is the gag for you. Naturally, any gag is going to induce drooling, however, this one just seems to be better at it. I think that this is because the holes in the gag sort of collect the drool, causing it all to gush out.

I find the construction of this gag to be pretty cheap, but what do you expect for $10.99?

The product page says that the straps are made out of leather, but it doesn't feel like leather at all. If it is, by some chance, actual leather, it's extremely cheap leather. The straps are very poor quality and they will clearly not withstand the taste of time. This is evident by the fact that creases in the "leather" and fraying at the ends is already being observed.

The straps will probably fit anywhere from 17" to 26" in diameter - though, those with smaller heads should be aware that it likely won't fit tightly.

The ball itself is 1 3/4" in size and appears to be made of a very firm rubber. This means that you bite down on the ball, it's not going to give you some cushioning and it may make your jaw hurt. The main point with this ball is the little holes that are all over its surface. The holes do make it easier for one to breathe, however, they collect drool like none other, so if you're looking for a ball that will reduce drooling, this probably isn't for you. Now, in regards to the holes itself, they don't seem to have been made very well. When I first received this ball, there were bits of rubber coming off of the ball where the holes are and it just generally looked unfinished. I was able to fix this with a razor, but it was a bit tedious to do so.

The rubber had a strange taste to it at first, however, that taste no longer bothers me after multiple uses. That said, the ball does still have a rubbery odor to it, but it does seem to be fading.

For the price, this gag is okay. It's a good gag to get if you're looking to see if you like the idea of being gagged. Be warned though, if you don't want to get messy (or see your submissive getting messy), you probably want to avoid this one, as drooling will occur with this product.

For me, personally, the gag is extremely uncomfortable for extended wear and so I only wear it for very short periods of time. That's not a problem with the gag itself though, as it just simply means that I have a small mouth.
