In Poor Taste

Horrible taste and smell, strap too loose.
This is a gag that will make you gag.
I got this gag as an introductory toy for my partner, figuring it was tame enough not to scare him too terribly. The price was right and, admittedly, it was a bit of an impulse buy. Unfortunately, in sex toys, you get what you pay for. Even on the tightest setting the strap was too loose and the gag could easily be pushed out - and we certainly wanted to push it out due to the awful taste and smell the ball produced. Even after I washed it out with water and doused it in mouthwash it was still nigh unbearable. Since I've used other silicone, rubber, PVC and leather gags, I know they don't all have this nasty factory chemical taste.
Now it sits in the bottom of our toy bag for those nights one of us might have a stuffy nose. We get it out every now and then, hoping the taste has somehow miraculously faded, but our hopes are always in vain. I'd definitely recommend dropping a little extra cash on a higher end product.
If you can get past the taste, it is quite easy to breathe and drool through. As far as bondage toys go, it's pretty safe as it allows one to breathe if the nose is obstructed, allows drool to flow out rather than pooling in the mouth, and it is easy to hear your partner should they call out in distress at some point. I'm sure it's possible to punch extra holes in the strap for a tighter fit, but I didn't feel it was worth it since neither of us could bear the taste and smell for any length of time.
The little blindfold they included was nice though! It's handy if you need a quick addition to a scene as it slips on easily, won't come untied, and is effective at blocking out vision.

I CAN, but prefer not to. I actually have the one that has an "o" ring that goes in your mouth, so I can breathe through it.

It's unfortunate that you had that problem. I have had a similar problem with the Spartacus ball gags, but not this one. I wonder what causes it exactly.
