The blindfold is made of silk, cotton, and fleece. It is sewn together very sturdily and will last for quite a while if you use it properly. The silk is black and is embroidered with an oriental/dragon pattern in red thread. The part that touches your eyes is made of black fleece. I find it makes the blindfold really comfortable to wear, and it is not scratchy at all.

The Silk Whisper is made to fit smaller to medium-sized heads. It is secured on by a thick piece of sewing elastic, and it will stretch if you wear it often enough. It is designed really well in that it blocks out most light. If you happen to have a bump in your septum, it may not block out all light. I have a small bump, and it allows light to come through just at the sides of my nose. If I adjust it farther up than is normal, I can manage to get out most of the light.

At first, it was very tight to wear for longer periods of time, but I wore it to bed to block out my husband's reading light, and it worked well for that.

The blindfold is a good choice for anyone. It is great whether you want one for sleeping purposes or for a more intense experience during BDSM play.

This is one product that will last you a long time. I have used it to get to sleep for about 3 consecutive weeks, and it is still perfect for using during sensory deprivation play. The elastic gets a bit looser the more you wear it, but it will still fit small heads after stretched. My head is very small in circumference, and I find it fits well when you are playing roughly or more intimately.

I have only had to adjust it a few times during active play. During sleep hours when I wear this, I do have to adjust it more frequently due to moving around in my sleep.

The Silk Whisper came in a see-through plastic baggy which is not recyclable. It seems the company that makes this is based 2 hours away from where I live. I noticed this because it was sent to me in a President's Choice baggy, and I didn't think they had that in the States. That was before I read the tag which has the product name on it. There are no user instructions nor are there any care directions. I would have preferred care instructions at the very least.

I would say it's pretty discreet as you could say it's for blocking out the light to sleep. It doesn't say that it is for sexual purposes on the tag.

So far, my experience with this blindfold has been a great one. I have used it both for sleeping, blocking out light, and blocking out my sense of sight during playtime. I did notice that the elastic that holds it on your head gets looser the more you wear it. I don't think this would be a problem as it is quite small to begin with. It gave me a slight headache the first time I wore it for more than 2 hours at a time. I would suggest wearing it for a little while to start and then increasing the increments of time as you become accustomed to the tightness. Overall, I am in love with this thing. I would highly recommend it to anyone as it will last a really long time.
