Use

The Under-the-Bed Restraint System is a nifty set that's great for people whose beds do not have bedposts. Anyone from new to intermediate level of restraint can enjoy the Under-the-Bed Restraint System because it's strong enough to withstand a good amount of struggle but also be light enough for people who are just starting out. Since it comes with sets of wrist/ankle cuffs, you're all covered for the night without having to make any other purchases!

Design / Craftsmanship / Material / Size / Fit

The system is made of five nylon straps that make an "I" shape, two going across the top of the bed, another two going across the foot, and one right down the middle. All of the straps are adjustable by slide buckles, making it easy to fit any sized bed. You can fit a twin, full, queen, or king perfectly, because every strap adjusts to 60". The four straps (two across both the head and foot of the bed) all have metal d-rings that act as attachment points. They're large enough that any sort of attachment can be used, like ties, snap clips, or other forms of rings.

Where the straps meet are large rings for ease of moving the straps around. This really works great when you're experimenting and testing out new things.

There are for cuffs that come with the set, two for use on ankles and another two for the wrists. They're made with a fur-like material, and if you know me, you know that I hate cuffs like that. For some reason, they just annoy me. The fur gets all over the place and it drives me nuts. Regardless, they fit wrists sized up to about 14" in circumference and can fit extremely small wrists as well, since they do close by velcro. The cuffs all have an o-ring which a snap clasp is attached to, making it easy to either attach to the under-the-bed system or to each other.

Performance

I absolutely love my Under-the-Bed Restraint System. Since I have a platform bed, it works wonders for me and I do not have to bother with using rope on my foot posts in order to keep my submissive down. It was very easy to set up, took about thirty minutes tops, and that was on my own. Had I had my partner help me, it probably would have been a lot easier. If you're anal retentive like me, I suggest taking the mattress off the frame and putting the system down, then lowering the mattress onto it. My straps are a little twisted because I didn't do it that way, so it sometimes makes me go nuts.

The nylon straps do stand up to a lot of struggling, so they're very sturdy and you can feel safe tugging on them as you please. Tossing and writhing around the bed should not break them, as they didn't break under any struggling that my partner did. If you don't have a set of cuffs, the cuffs that come with the set are fairly comfortable and doable. They're obviously not as strong as leather, lockable cuffs are, but they do a good job of keeping the person from escaping. Sure, I'll rarely ever use them, but they are a nice addition to the set.

It's really funny actually, because I never take the set down. I keep it set up always because I never know when I'm going to need it, right? I don't really hide the hanging straps, but for people who are trying to be more discreet, it may be best if they tuck the straps somewhere under the mattress so that they can be easily retrieved for use.

You can move the straps around the bed quite easily with a good tug in order to change positions. You can also tighten the straps as needed once you have changed positions, it's really easy and fluid, which I personally like because I'd rather be focusing on what's going on than on adjusting straps to restrain my partner.
    • Easy to put on / use
    • Holds up to use well

Care and Maintenance

For washing the cuffs, you can either put them in the washing machine or hand wash them with soapy water. Make sure to let them dry. The straps, honestly, do not need much fussing at all. If you get something on one of the straps, just use a wet cloth and wipe it off. For storage, if you decide to put the Under-the-Bed Restraint System away, it can be stored in a closet or a box under the bed, whatever you prefer. I personally keep mine set up at all times, so storage isn't necessary. The same goes for the cuffs, just put them in a drawer or on a shelf and they'll be fine.
    • Easy to clean
    • Easy to store

Packaging

The set comes in a plastic clamshell case that's very easy to open. Inside is a paper insert showing a nice diagram of how to put the set on the bed and also what it includes. It's very, very helpful, which is great especially for people who are just starting out. I recycled my packaging once I was finished reading it, but you can also use it to store the restraint system if you do not keep it set up like I do.
    • Good for storage
    • Recyclable
    • Very informative

  • Under the bed restraint system
    • What creative ways can you guys come up with to use this system in conjunction with tethers and hip restraints.

We'll start with a simple one, Hog Tie: Simply have the person on the bed or floor on their belly and attach the wrist restraints to the their respective ankle restraints (from the behind, as in the ankles should meet the wrist around the lower back area)

What creative ways have you guys used this system?
    • I haven't got this one yet - it does look like fun though :-)

We just recently picked this item up. (Well, actually bf bought it and surprised me with it!!!)

We've only used it once so far and it's wonderful. Nothing creative yet, but maybe when we get the hang of it.

Are the standard bed restraint systems, such as 'under the bed', one size fits all for different beds? Could I use this on twin mattress and king mattress?
    • Well, Backseat Boohoo's verified review says she used it on an extra long twin and mine is set up on an extra tall queen. I know some folks with kings have found it a big small, though.

      Beat me to it!

For most beds, I think they would work. They worked on my extra long twin back in a dorm room, and they work on the full bed I have now. But I might draw the line at a king, yes, unless you want to buy an extension strap.
