extremely useful review
Sweet Confessions edited by Violet Blue is more about the illicit thrill and courage it takes to admit that you have desires that might or might not excite your partner. A compilation aimed at couples this book takes a look at the interplay between what we want to explore and how wonderful it is to have a partner who is ready, willing and able to come along for the ride.

Violet Blue brings together 18 authors, some of whom are old friends to this reviewer, who take the idea of confession to a whole new and exciting level. The authors represented here are: Heidi Champa, Devyn Christopher, Kayar Silkenvoice, Portia Da Costa, Jacqueline Applebee, Sophie Mouette, Alison Tyler, Angela Caperton, K. D. Grace, Piper Morgan, Anika Ray, Kay Jaybee, Liv Olson, Andrea Dale, Regina Kammer, Alexander Liboiron, Jeremy Edwards, and Rachel Kramer Bussel. Included at the back of the book is a little biography about each author should the reader be interested in finding out a little bit more about a favorite author. Violet Blue also has a bit lengthier biography included in the book.

The stories all seem to flow seamlessly from one erotic encounter to another and left this reviewer having to remind herself that there was otherthings that needed to be done during the day! From the first story to the last I was intrigued and flat out turned on without any of those jarring cold splash type stories that leave me feeling disoriented.

Imagine that you are working late one night and you walk by your co-worker, or boss's, office and witness him masturbating. Would you have the courage to provide him with some "materials" for his mastubatory delight? In Smell As Sweet by Heidi Champa our heroine is faced with just such a dilemma!

Suppose your real desire was to have an erotic encounter with the friend of your boyfriend. You don't admit, even to yourself, that the idea turns you on. Your boyfriend, however, knows your little secret and loves to send you on erotic little encounters starring himself as your illicit affair. In Silver Screen by Portia Da Costa, Harry sets up an encounter sure to please his main squeeze!

Alison Tyler weaves a story out of her main character's desire to watch two men having sex while she and her lover do the same. Counterpane takes the lunch time quickie to a whole new level of erotic fantasy fulfillment.

In Underpants by K. D. Grace, Dan surprises his mistress by asking her to allow him to dress her completely. She is enthusiastic and waxes philosphical about her role as 'the other woman'. He shows up with a gift and blows her mind when he pulls out a pair of plain, cotton panties several sizes too big. He assures her that she will enjoy what he has in mind, and she most certainly did!

By contrast Underwear is another lingerie fetish story that takes a whole different direction. Kay Jaybee weaves a tale starring Leah as a lingerie sales person visiting a client that has very discriminating tastes. He is hot, very attracted to her and already has a girlfriend. Still he insists that he needs to see the lingerie modeled before he buys. What happens next was a surprising and welcome twist, at least for me!

My favorite story is An Age Play by Regina Kammer. It is about a Romance writer who has a lovely relationship with her husband in which they are free to express and try out their fantasies with each other. She is on a trip to England to research for a book when she runs into a totally hot young man who is studying abroad. He asks the unaskable question and she has to face her husband with the idea that she might teach this young man all about what women really want in bed, first hand! Honest and yet touching this was an amazing read.

The book is an oversized paperback and the cover art is most definitely tame. It is simply a picture of a woman whispering into the ear of her partner. It is erotic and yet sweet.
Follow-up commentary
This book has been off my bookshelf more than it has been on it! The stories are sweet, hot and downright erotic. I still definitely recommend it.
