Better Than Sweet

Sweet Confessions by Violet Blue is a collection of erotic stories that focus on couples and trying new things. I found the stories in this book to be very good, both in writing and in content. I highly recommend this one.
Variety of fantasys
Well written and arousing stories
For some: heterosexual focus, not all fantasies will be everyone's cup of tea

extremely useful review
Sweet Confessions edited by Violet Blue is collection of erotic stories that focus on couples and trying out new fantasies. For some reason the word “sweet” being in the title lead me to believe that these stories would be on the milder side and wouldn’t be as intense (for lack of a better term) as I usually like my erotica. However, I was pleasantly surprised and now I know not to judge a book by its title. I am a little upset that I chose to put this one on the back burner for so long.

Violet Blue has put together many anthologies including the “Best Women’s Erotica” series and is well known to readers and writers of this genre. There are other well-known authors of this genre who have stories in this collection including: Rachel Kramer Bussel, Alison Tyler, and Jacqueline Applebee just to name a couple.
The cover shows a woman who looks like she is whispering her deepest fantasy into the ear of her lover. I like this cover design because it is sensual in nature but at the same time I would say that most people won’t gawk at your book cover if you are reading it in public.

As mentioned, this anthology is aimed at couples, and focuses on heterosexual pairings. If this is not your cup of tea, then you may want to look for a different compilation of stories. There is a good amount of variety in the fantasies that are explored her such as: panty fetishes, watching one’s partner with another person, and even some mild “water sports”. I found these stories to be well written and arousing, but whether you will feel similar depends on your sexual tastes.

Some of the stories in this book stood out for me because the fantasy sparked something in me and/or because it was such a great story that I got sucked into the writing. My standout stories for this anthology were:

Bad Influences by Devyn Christopher

Counterpane by Alison Tyler

New Day, New Life by Andrea Dale

An Age Play by Regina Kammer

Jenna’s Gambit by Jeremy Edwards

The Female Gaze by Rachel Kramer Bussel
Like I said, I really enjoyed reading this anthology. I know that I found a good erotic anthology when I can’t keep my hands (and toys of course) too far from inside my pants while I’m reading.
