Hitachi magic wand vibrator by Hitachi - review by DixieDoo

The Hitachi Magic Wand is mainly a clitoral vibrator. It is not to be used for penetration of any kind. The Hitachi Magic Wand can also be used as a massager for all over the body. The box of the Hitachi suggests using the Hitachi on the neck, shoulders, arms, calf muscles, etc. That said, it can be used all over the body, as more than a sex toy. Besides the clitoris, it can also be used on the nipples. Since the vibrations are very strong, it does make a great body massager and feels very nice on tired or sore muscles.

The head of the wand is made of a sturdy rubber and has a slight rubber smell to it, but it is really light, so it doesn't bother me. It is soft enough to give in slightly to pressure, but holds its shape. It is slightly bumpy. I do not feel like the texture adds any extra stimulation, although you can purchase other head attachments with different textures for added pleasure. The handle of the wand is hard plastic. It has no smell and no taste.

I love the design. It feels so slick and clean. It's very nice. I like how long the handle is because it really allows you to have plenty of room to be able to grip it. At first, I thought the wand was huge, but I do not find it to be a problem of any sort. It is rather heavy for a vibrator, but it really does not bother me. I do wish the wand had a longer cord. While it does reach my bed perfectly fine, I would like the option of being able to use it in different areas of the house, or maybe at my boyfriend's place. That said, a longer cord might be helpful for those purposes. The cord is 6 feet long. Taking the wand with you might not be such a great idea when traveling. It is big and will take up quite a big spot in your bag or suitcase. While this might not be the easiest toy to hide (because of the size) the box it comes in is great for storing it in, that way the cord does not get tangled and twisted.

The controls are super easy to figure out and maneuver. There is one switch. Flip it one way for the low setting. Flip it to the middle for off. Flip it completely the other way for the high setting. The low setting is a perfect medium; not too low of a vibration, but not overpowering. The high setting is the "hallelujah" setting for me. The wand is noisy, so if you do not want anyone to know what you are doing. Do not use the wand unless you are home alone. The vibrations are concentrated right in the head of the toy. It is NOT waterproof, as you would imagine, since it does plug into the wall. The performance of the toy deserves an encore, or three... it is that good.

The Hitachi Wand is super easy to clean. I simply take a clean cloth and spray some toy cleaner on the cloth until it is damp and give the toy a good wipe down. I use the box that the Magic Wand came in for storage, that way the power cord doesn't get tangled or twisted.

Packaging is a simple white box. It has pictures on it of women using the Hitachi on their shoulders and calf muscles; the pictures are very clean and show no sign that the item inside could be used for/as a sex toy. Users manual was included inside the box, but they are not needed. The toy is so simple to figure out. The box would work great wrapped for a gift, and I use it myself for the storing of the toy.

I am not overly sensitive, but the high setting after a while does get to be a little too much for me after a constant use of the toy. That said, for when that happens, the low setting (which is not all that low when compared to other toys) is the perfect speed and power of vibrations. The Hitachi is the only toy I can use that can allow me to squirt with no penetrating whatsoever. I love my Hitachi, the only thing I hate is that I waited so long to buy one.
