The candles have a different appearance then the pictures. Instead of a paper label, the printing is screened directly onto the glass votive. I actually like this design better since paper obscures the flame on one side.

This is a great candle for setting in a bathroom while you bathe, in the bedroom for setting the mood or around your house as an aromatic delight. I purchased the French Vanilla and Champagne Rain scents and I will go over each scent separately in the Aroma Section.

These candles would make a great gift for everyone. They have absolutely no sexual references on them, just a tagline that states; "For that added glow of romance, relax and bathe to Champagne Lights Candle scent will naturally freshen room when melting."

The candles are in a clear glass votive that has a lacy black design and printing screened onto the face of it. The instructions, warnings and tagline are screened onto the back of the votive. The lid is aluminum and screws on and off for aroma freshness between uses.

The wax looks like champagne bubbles through the glass. They are actually loose beads that melt down very well. After the first burning, there is a solid wax coating on the top and near the wick. You might have to dig a bit to find the wick prior to lighting the first time.

The votive gets very hot around the sides, so care needs to be taken if you are picking it up for whatever reason. The bottom stays cool until the wax is about a half inch deep, setting it on a coaster would be recommended for safety.

I did not nor do I recommend tasting these candles!

I purchased two different scents, Champagne Rain and French Vanilla. Both candles are nicely scented and will last awhile depending on your usage habits.

The Champagne Rain scent was reminiscent of the clean linen Febreeze but with a hint of a floral tone. It tends to be a bit strong but not overpowering. The scent lasted in the room for a couple of hours after burning. I burned it for about an hour. I put the lid on after cooling and was very happy with the fresh but relaxing scent.

French Vanilla smells just like the vanilla candles you can purchase everywhere, but had a tiny bit of an almond undertone. I really enjoyed using this one around the house and letting the aroma of a good candy shop/bakery freshen the air. I also burned this for an hour and was pleasantly smelling this aroma for about 2 hours as well.

The product information states these candles burn for 12 hours. I have burned mine for about 5 hours and have over half the votive left. I would say their estimate should be pretty close. I usually burn mine for about 1-3 hours and then let them cool completely. I re-lid them and freeze them for longevity.

I am noticing that for some reason the Champagne Rain is burning a bit quicker than the French Vanilla. Not a whole lot more, but there is a slightly noticeable difference. After a couple more burnings I am sure it will be a lot more pronounced. I will cover this in my follow-up review!

If you freeze your candle for a few hours prior to using it, it will last twice as long as a room temperature candle, burn cleaner and not shed the wick as much. I freeze mine every time I use them. Wait until completely cooled before freezing!!!

Trim your wick prior to every use to keep the smoking contained and for longevity of the candle. A longer flame heats the wax faster and causes it to burn quicker.

Use a sandstone coaster underneath that has also been frozen prior to use to keep the heat down inside the votive and to protect your counter or furniture from any heat.
