I must start by saying my partner had this toy before I met her so alas I can’t comment on the experience of buying and waiting for it to arrive. My partner introduced it to me and me being a complete newcomer to sex toys I hadn’t ever thought of using a vibrator, either on myself or others. Well now I can say I am a complete convert.

The toy itself is nice. It has an ample amount of cable to plug it in which is a serious plus, If something this powerful were to run on batteries, suffice to say it would cost a lot to run. Just from experience rechargeable mains operated toys will almost pay for themselves in what they save in batteries, well worth the investment. The texture of the handle is what you expect, solid and sturdy plastic. You can feel that it is a product of good quality, in a word sturdy. The head of the toy is a little softer, it’s by no means malleable like silicone but there is a little bit of give in it.

Now for the important part, how well does it work. As I mentioned I had relatively little experience prior to this so I was somewhat wary, I honestly didn’t know what to expect or how it would feel. Well the first time it was used on me it felt absolutely incredible, to this day I think it was one of the best orgasms I have ever had. It had two speed settings, the lower of which is incredibly intense, the higher of which..... well you can imagine.

My main critique of the toy is this. The sheer power of it means that if you want to use it on your partner or have them use it on you then you run the risk of ruining an orgasm but holding there a fraction of a second too long or taking it away too early. There is an art form to it. Also as many people have mentioned above it is a little noisy, something akin to an electric razor, I personally don’t think it’s a major problem if you apply a little common sense when using it.

The Hitachi Magic Wand has a great reputation and in my humble opinion it is well deserved. You would have to be in the mood to use it and it’s definitely not something you will use every day, or even every week but when nothing else will do it’s good to know you have one to hand.
