I have had both, and they are really both very good toys. The main difference really is that the Acuvibe is rechargeable and can be used cordless, while the Hitachi must plug in to work. Personally, I think that the Hitachi is slightly stronger, and it has definitely outlasted my Acuvibes - I have had two, and they both broke down after about six months or so.

If you don't mind me suggesting, I would love it if you could go into a bit more information on your experience with the wand--did you use lube? If so, what type (water, silicone) and is there any kind that you shouldn't use with the wand? While I realize that the latter info is usually found in the overview, it's good to bear in mind that our reviews are the only things that some customers read.

Sorry about that...still new to reviews and learning to be more descriptive. I never use lube with it, so I have no idea how it reacts with it. The head part is pretty smooth so it has not been at all uncomfortable for me to rub it down there without lube.
