extremely useful review
System JO has certainly outdone themselves with their Dona line, and the Lace Lingerie Wash is no exception! I personally just toss anything and everything in my washing machine, but since I've acquired some more delicate lingerie pieces (that my older machine would certainly trash), I had to snap up a bottle of this. As I've mentioned in my other Dona reviews for the Blue Lotus scent, this product smells to me like a light and clean floral mixed with a lush "green" scent (as in plush, water-filled flower stems and leaves). I personally also detect a subtle ocean scent, but that could just be me.

Bottle-Packaging:
The 9.5 oz bottle has a black screw-off lid that doesn't appear to leak. The label is a lovely blue with black lace print and lists the product name, scent, ingredients and instructions for use. It's very discreet and can be left out with other laundry washing items without worry.

Use:
The instructions on the back of the bottle suggest using 1/2 cup of the wash in a gallon of lukewarm water. Using that amount would only yield about two to three uses from the entire bottle. I personally found two capfuls plenty when added to a large sinkful of water. Soak the item for 5 to 10 minutes, gently hand wash and follow the drying instructions on the clothing item's label.

Ingredients:
The Blue Lotus bottle lists the following ingredients: Purified Water, Sodium C 14-16 Olefin Sulfonate, Sodium Cocoamphoacetate, Cocamidopropyl Hydroxysultaine, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Propanediol, Glycerin, Sodium Chloride, Lycium Barbarum (Goji) berry, Coffea Arabica (Coffee) Seed, Euterpe Oleracea (Açaí) Fruit, Morinda Citrifolia (Noni) Fruit, Punica Granatum (Pomegranate) Fruit, Camellia Sinensis (Green Tea) Leaf, Garcinia Mangostana (Mangosteen) Pericarp Extracts, Citric Acid, Benzyl Alcohol, Methylchloroisothiazolinone, Methylisothiazone, Disodium EDTA, Fragrance

Thickness/Viscosity/Texture:
The Lingerie Wash is much thicker than normal laundry detergent. I found it to be similar to the Dona Bath Foam and Body Wash. It's light golden in color and is very thick and smooth. It does take a bit of a squeeze to get it out of the bottle because of its thickness.

Performance:
Adding two capfuls to about two to three gallons of warm water in a sink, the wash produced sweet scented water and bubbles comparable to their Bath Foam (though not as frothy) or any average bubble bath. After a ten minute soak, I gently swished the item about and hand washed it before rinsing in clean water. I rolled the item in a towel to squeeze out excess water and hung it to dry. While wet, the item was clean and softly scented. The scent also stayed with the garment after air drying.
Experience
I have nothing bad to say about the Dona Lace Lingerie Wash! Unlike some of the other products I've tried from the line, the scent actually stuck around (though it is on fabric, not skin). I used this on my Blue lace babydoll and g-string set, and though it wasn't heavily soiled, it left everything clean and smelling wonderful. Because my garment wasn't that dirty to begin with, I can't really comment on how well this wash does with more heavily soiled items (though in Beck's wonderful review, she talks of washing her son's sheets with the product and it removed urine smells and stains).

Also, because that was my garment's first washing, it did turn the water blue (I have noticed though that most blue items do tend to bleed). The babydoll set was the only item I washed at that time, but I did slip in a 100% cotton white t-shirt afterward to see if the color would transfer. After only soaking for three minutes, my white tee was in fact tinted blue. Because of this, I would recommend washing new or bleed-prone items alone or with like colors to prevent dye transfer.

Overall, the Dona Lace Lingerie Wash is a very nice product that works well at an affordable price. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a gentle hand washing product to clean their delicates with and I'm eager to get the other scents. I did deduct one star because the wash dried out my hands, but it's still worth it (and an excuse to get some Dona lotion!)
Follow-up commentary
Using only 2 to 3 capfuls of the wash per sinkful of water, I've barely put a dent in the bottle after washing several garments. It works rather well and smells nice. After trying other "scents" in the Dona line, I've come to like the Camu Camu more than the Blue lotus and will be buying another bottle of the lingerie wash in that scent when I use this one up.
