USE
Dona is a new line by a company you may already know - System JO. The Dona brand is an entire lineup of products that are used together to create a ritual. The products are all infused with aphrodisiacs. The ritual you start with the products is designed to “nurture the mind, body, and sensuality.”

There are five steps to the ritual - relax, cleanse, nourish, illuminate, and engage. The lingerie wash is part of the cleanse step. The wash is added to sink water where lingerie is soaked in the wash and then rinsed clean. The aphrodisiac wash leaves lingerie smelling of the chosen scent. It is not intended for use in a washing machine. It can be used on lingerie, bras, panties, and other delicates that need to be hand washed.

Dona Lingerie Wash comes in a variety of scents. You can choose between Pomegranate, Blue Lotus, Mangosteen, Acai, Camu Camu, or Goji Berry. This review focuses on the Pomegranate scent.

AROMA
Pomegranate is a fruit that can range in taste and aroma from sweet to tart. It is native to Iran but has been cultivated elsewhere. Pomegranate juice has potential antioxidant health benefits, but since you won’t be ingesting this product that won’t translate over.

The Pomegranate wash smells more to the sweet side. It isn't reminiscent so much of pomegranate as it is of soap, cucumber melon, and green tea. It has a fruity sweetness that cucumber melon/green tea normally doesn't. It's a very clean smelling fragrance. It's strong enough to be smelled when mixed in the sink but doesn't overpower a room. As a migraine sufferer, this did not cause any issues for me.

CONSISTENCY
The consistency of the wash is thick. It's a gel like soap, similar to a pump hand soap or thick laundry detergent. The bottle needs to be squeezed a bit to get the product out. It comes out in medium sized globs of which you only need about three or four to get a good result.

PERFORMANCE
The bottle states that you need 1/2 cup of wash per gallon of water. I found that less was needed, which conserves product. The wash foams up well without having to hand mix it. Once it creates foam, the foam stays during the recommended soaking period (5-10 minutes).

The wash cleans lingerie well without having to rub the delicate clothing. Simply soaking the item will clean it well unless there are prominent stains. The fragrance clings to the washed item for a few days after cleaning. The scent on the lingerie is very light, but can be detected if held to the nose.

EXPERIENCE
I love the way this smells and works. I haven't had a lingerie wash in years and usually just throw everything in the machine. This is a great reason to take better care of my lingerie AND have it smell great at the same time. I can't quite give a full backing to this wash due to the ingredients. It claims to be all natural and free of harsh chemicals and it isn't.
